On July 31, 2018, the summer event Solstice of Heroes starts in Destiny 2. According to leaks, there will be a cool new modifier in selected activities to match the festival.
The summer festival is just around the corner: Destiny 2 concludes its first year with the seasonal summer event “Solstice of Heroes”. As part of this summer festival, guardians can celebrate their previous achievements and accomplishments before the upcoming Forsaken expansion and earn numerous new rewards.
New leak: A newly emerged leak suggests that there will also be a special modifier for selected activities around the Solstice.
Stackable Elemental Damage as New Event Modifier
Elemental Boon: As revealed by a new infographic for the Solstice event, the so-called Elemental Boon will be available in certain activities during the event – an elemental blessing. Elemental orbs are expected to provide stackable damage modifiers. By wearing the event armor, this boon can be channeled.
How to get elemental orbs: It has been discovered through data mining that elemental orbs (Arc, Solar, Void) can be generated when wearing the complete Solstice armor set during the event.
Damage can be stacked: According to the new description, these orbs will gradually build up and stack your Solar, Arc, or Void damage. It is still unknown whether this will result in a permanent, ongoing elemental buff for the duration of the activity or if the stacks will only last for a short time and need to be built up repeatedly. It’s also unclear how high the additional damage buff will be.
More powerful guardians please the fans: Buffs that make the guardians more powerful have always been well received by the community. Whether it’s the snowballs from the Dawning event, which could be used for extra damage and to blind enemies in strikes, or the so-called rainbow burn, where all three elements dealt increased damage, they have consistently been popular.
This could be fun: The Elemental Boon leaves some questions. If this leak turns out to be true, then this stackable elemental buff, if implemented correctly, will provide an additional fun factor.
Within the community, burns are among the most popular modifiers in Destiny 2. If the damage buff is noticeably high and extends beyond just the special redux missions of the event, it would be a welcome change for a large portion of the guardians.
The hunt for the Moments of Triumph would certainly be more interesting for some players.
