In Destiny 2, there was an absurd problem with a new PvP event. Among other issues, the rewards weren’t working. This was critical, as the event only runs for a few days. It ends on Tuesday. Now Bungie has rushed a fix and even doubled the reputation gains.
This was the problem with the Iron Banner: Bungie has brought a “new old” event live this week: The PvP event Iron Banner has been available since Tuesday with the newly revamped Rift mode. However, there were numerous problems:
- If too many weekly challenges were completed, the reputation system was broken, and players were reset
- There were so many difficulties with the Iron Banner Rift that the usually enraged Destiny players were even angrier at Bungie than usual and threatened the developers with violence
- It got even worse because Bungie did not address the problems in the weekly blog post, instead focusing on PvE for the first time
What made it all critical? The Iron Banner is an event that occurs relatively rarely starting from Season 17. It only lasts for a week, until the weekly reset on Tuesday, June 7.
However, it is an event that must be played a lot to unlock the Iron Banner seal. Now, during Pentecost, people theoretically have time for it.
However, players were concerned that this time the Iron Banner was so buggy that it couldn’t be played properly, and therefore rewards would be missed.
Double Reputation Rewards, But Only Active for a Few Days
This is now the announcement: Almost at the last minute on Saturday, Bungie announced its solution:
- The worst glitches with the reputation rewards have been fixed with a hotfix
- Furthermore, all reputation rewards in this edition of the Iron Banner are simply doubled – the bonus stacks on all other bonuses, so it hits really hard
If you have time on the rest of Sunday and on Pentecost Monday, you should head into the Iron Banner now, as the invested time currently counts double for the reputation rewards.
How is it being commented on? Well, people are not really happy on Twitter. Some say: The “Rift” mode is so unpopular that some players are just picking up the coveted rewards AFK, sabotaging the fun of active players.
Others criticize: Skill-based matchmaking should be enabled to make the fights fairer.
It seems like something is seriously wrong with this mode.
The last change in Destiny 2 was not very well received:
