Destiny 2: Solo Guide for the Dungeon – How to Master the ‘Pit of Heresy’ Solo Without Dying

Those who take on the challenge in Destiny 2 and master the new dungeon “Pit of Heresy” flawlessly and solo will receive an exclusive emblem and a title triumph. Learn here how to achieve this feat.

What are dungeons in Destiny? Dungeons are like mini-raids in Destiny 2 for up to three players. Here too, puzzles need to be solved, jumping passages overcome, and tough bosses defeated.

As in the first dungeon “Shattered Throne”, brave Guardians are rewarded in the “Pit of Heresy” as well. If you manage the entire dungeon without help, you will be further rewarded for the joy – after all, you have mastered one of the hardest activities solo.

For a successful solo run, in which you do not die a single time, there is an exclusive emblem and a triumph. This triumph is needed for the Shadowkeep title “Omen”. You can proudly show this title to demonstrate what a model Guardian you are.

Preparation for the Solo Run

Keep these tips in mind: Before you enter the dungeon, there are a few important tips to check:

• Set your fireteam to ‘closed’. If another Guardian joins at any time, everything done so far is in vain.
• You can manually reset the dungeon at the start screen. This way you can begin a new run.
• Currently, it looks like the solo run must be completed in one session. So plan enough time. PC players need to pay extra attention to an annoying bug.
• Pack a sufficient supply of raid banners. These useful items can fully refill your ammunition and ability energy before the individual phases. You can buy the banners from Hawthorne in the Tower or from Petra in the Dreaming City.

This equipment is recommended: To make the difficult task as easy as possible for you, we have compiled some extremely useful equipment tips:

• Use the powerful artifact mods from the seasonal artifact. With abilities like ‘Oppressive Darkness’, you deal 30% extra damage after grenade hits. You should not miss out on this support.
• Thanks to the Hive mods, you will always be supplied with heavy ammunition, and ‘Hive Barrier’ grants you 20% damage reduction for 10 seconds. You can find these mods in the Menagerie or the raid “Crown of Sorrow”.
• The mods ‘Major Resist’ and ‘Boss Resist’ provide you with additional protection that you urgently need.
• Titans use the exotic armor ‘Doomfang Pauldron‘ or the Helm of Saint-14.
• Hunters are well served with ‘Orpheus Rig‘ or the helm ‘Celestial Nighthawk’.
• Warlocks particularly benefit from the headpiece Nezarek’s Sin and the boots ‘Transversive Steps’.

These weapons are recommended: In the different phases, specific weapons are more suited than others. But in general, you are well equipped with these weapons:

• Primary weapon – The Lone Survivor (probably one of the best weapons for all of PvE) and auto rifles or SMGs with the mod Anti-Barrier Rounds.
• Special weapon – primarily sniper rifles (the strongest representative at the moment is Izanagi’s Burden) are your best choice.
• Power weapon – Here, heavy machine guns (like Hammerhead or 21% Delirium) or grenade launchers (Love and Death and the exotic Anarchy are very strong).
