With the March update, the exclusive Nightfall rewards have also entered Destiny 2. The first available Nightfall reward is the sniper rifle Silikonneurom. What can this new sniper do?
With the release of the Update 1.1.4 for Destiny 2, guardians can embark on the hunt for Nightfall-exclusive rewards that can only be obtained after successfully completing the Nightfall strike.
Each boss of a Nightfall strike now has a rare item in its loot pool that is visually tied to it and can drop for the guardians on any difficulty level of the Nightfall with a bit of luck.

The first available exclusive reward is the sniper rifle Silikonneurom. How does this new sniper perform in practice?
The Silikonneurom
The Silikonneurom is a legendary sniper rifle from the loot pool of the special Nightfall rewards and can be obtained in the Nightfall version of the Pyramidion strike. As your strike high score increases, so does your chance to acquire this unique sniper.
What makes the Silikonneurom special?
The Silikonneurom is an excellent sniper rifle with high impact. Although this sniper can only be obtained through a PvE activity, its perks are perfectly suited for the Crucible.

With a setup featuring the perks Arrowhead Brake, Extended Mag, and Snapshot Sights, you essentially have the current best sniper for PvP, which even competes with the previous Crucible king Maxime XI from the New Monarchy.

With this perk combination, you can already see through your sights in mere moments – an invaluable advantage in guardian duels. The sway of the scope view is minimal, and the zoom strength is ideally suited for Crucible battles. The aim assist of the weapon is also noticeably impactful (on consoles) and simplifies some of the kills.
Who is this sniper for?
This weapon is currently a must-have for all snipers in the PvP of Destiny 2. It performs excellently in the Crucible, and anyone with a weakness for sniping should definitely try this rifle if they have it in their possession.
In PvE, the Silikonneurom is just one of many solid sniper rifles and is not among the absolute top favorites.
What do you think of this sniper? Is the grind for this weapon worth it?
