In Destiny 2 a new gamescom trailer has been released. This showcases the new threat that awakens in Season 8: The Vex – the Undying.
This is the new trailer: At the beginning of gamescom 2019, Bungie delivers juicy trailers for Shadowkeep. After a gameplay trailer has already been released, a cinematic story trailer has now been revealed.
The story trailer teases Season 8, which is called “Season of the Undying.” In German, it is translated as “Saison der Unvergänglichen.”
We embed the trailer here in German:
Here’s what it’s about: According to the video description, the gates are open. The Vex are coming. The Garden of Salvation marks only the beginning.
The Garden of Salvation is known to be the name of the Shadowkeep raid. It is said to draw you back into the Black Garden.
If you prefer to watch the trailer in the original English version, you can find it here:
Here’s what you can see in the story trailer for the Season of the Undying
You can see this in the trailer: At the beginning, we see massive Vex installations. Then a little Vex milk swirls around, which disappears into a Vex body. This likely shows how the Vex are formed. Because after the milk enters the body, the eye begins to glow red.
According to the narrator’s voice, the Vex will do everything to protect the Black Garden.
When does the Season of the Undying start? According to the trailer, Season 8 begins on October 1 with Shadowkeep, but according to the video description, the seasonal content starts on October 5, 2019 – when exactly the Undying break upon us remains to be seen.
The special thing about the trailer: Anyone who has been following Destiny for years will recognize some scenes from this trailer. The cinematic of the awakening of the Vex was partially shown years ago in a ViDoc for Destiny 1. It had been assumed that this should show a Vex expansion that was scrapped in favor of the Destiny 2 reboot.
We just searched through our old articles and found the article about the scrapped Vex Void DLC, which featured these scenes. A leaked Destiny roadmap showed that after “The Taken King,” a Vex DLC called Vex Void was planned.
Now it shows once again that Bungie throws nothing away.
The trailer is still very well received. The graphics are said to be outstanding, it is read in the comments, and that Bungie is currently surpassing itself since they parted ways with Activision.
