This is how Shadowkeep looks before release
But even though the release is drawing closer, there is currently not only excitement among the fans. Many players view the expansion critically. The term content recycling comes up time and again. Shadowkeep is currently being discussed controversially and heatedly by many.
What the Guardians like about Shadowkeep: Many are looking forward to the new expansion. The moon is bringing back a popular setting from Destiny 1, which delights veterans and is unfamiliar to PC players. Among other things, there will be
- a new story revolving around the mysterious Eris Morn
- new activities such as the Vex Offensive or the Nightmare Hunt
- with the Garden of Salvation a new raid in the Black Garden
- various new loot such as exotic weapons or legendary armors
Many Guardians can hardly wait to dive into the new content – including our author Sven: Guardians complain about recycling fest in Destiny 2 Shadowkeep – I’m excited anyway
What is being criticized about Shadowkeep: However, there is also increasing criticism of the new expansion. Whether it is about the moon from Destiny 1 or the new raid armors, which are essentially just reskins of existing sets from year 1. The prevailing sentiment is often: Bungie has gone overboard with the recycling of content (content recycling) in Shadowkeep and offers too little new at the same time.
It is often heard in forums, comment sections, or discussion platforms that many Guardians are opting not to purchase the new expansion for this reason.
Additionally, with Shadowkeep, the Free-2-Play version Destiny 2: New Light will also launch. And the free content is certainly impressive. Some interested parties emphasize that they will first delve into New Light before they tackle Shadowkeep.
