One of the first exotic quests of the new expansion of Destiny 2 gives you the rocket launcher Deathbringer. We explain how to get this weapon.
What is the Deathbringer? It is a new exotic rocket launcher with the Void element and the following perks:
- Dark Release: Fires remote-detonated projectiles that hurl Void spheres at enemies. Hold to fire and release to detonate.
- Dark Descent: The further a Void sphere flies, the more powerful its explosion.
- Composite Stock
- Alloy Casing
- Liquid Rounds
The weapon has already been affectionately dubbed the Void Gjallarhorn by some Guardians.

Memory of Sai Mota
To be able to obtain the legendary pre-quest for this weapon, you must first complete the story of Shadowkeep. The actual exotic quest for the rocket launcher will then be unlocked.
This is the first quest step: Afterwards, Eris Morn will give you a legendary quest called “Memory of Sai Mota.”
To complete this quest, you also need to finish the bounty “Moon Cave Exploration.” This is also available from Eris, so you can pick it up right away. For this bounty, you need to loot the chests in three Lost Sectors:
- K1-Crew-Quarters
- K1-Logistics
- K1-Communion
These are the three sectors located on the map outside the area Sorrow’s Harbor.
This is the second quest step: As a reward for this bounty, you will receive a Firewall Data Fragment that you need to enter the system core chamber of the Lost Sector K1-Revelation in Sorrow’s Harbor (at the very top of the picture).
When looting the last Lost Sector, you will see a round opening in the wall of the last room that you can enter. Follow the path that opens through the data fragment, and you will receive the item “Sai Mota’s Broken Necklace” at the end.
This is the third quest step: From now on, you must collect the pieces of the necklace by defeating the Nightmares on the Moon using Arc abilities.
The quickest way to do this is by going to the area Sorrow’s Harbor, the “farming spot” for Nightmares. Once that’s done, you will receive the exotic quest for the rocket launcher from the chest of Eris at the Infinite Abyss.

Your very own Deathbringer
Searching for bones: After receiving the exotic quest and finding Eris Morn in the Bone Circle, she will have you search for bones.
- One bone can be found by completing public events at the Hellmouth. One event is sufficient for this.
- Another can be found in the Lost Sector K1-Revelation in Sorrow’s Harbor.
- The last bone is obtained from the Bone Collector that appears in the area Anchor of Light. Shoot him down and the bone is yours.
Master the Strike The Burning Fortress: Once that is done, Eris will send you to the Strike The Burning Fortress, where you must defeat the enemy Sulmakta, the High Conductor, who is located at the top near the boss.

Defeat different enemies: For the next step of the quest, you must defeat various types of enemies:
- Normal enemies
- Elite enemies and mini-bosses
- Bosses or other Guardians
If you don’t want to engage in PvP, you can farm the bosses in Sorrow’s Harbor. For elite enemies and mini-bosses, it is recommended to grind the escalation protocol on Mars.
This is the final step: Once all bones, screams, and other items have been collected in sufficient quantities, a new mission called Symphony of Death will appear on the map in patrol mode.
The mission level is at 920, but it is also achievable at 900 if you are not alone.

In the mission, you must survive the song of Aria sung by Ir Absuul at random intervals. This gives you a timer of one minute. If you do not manage to break her shields within this time and thus interrupt the song, Ir Absuul will annihilate you. At the same time, you must defend yourself against a large number of enemies.
Apart from the song timer, you have no restrictions in the mission and can take as much time as you want, as long as you interrupt Aria’s song.
At the end of the mission, you will receive Aria’s Singing Skull from Eris, and she will give you your fancy new rocket launcher. Enjoy!
Have you already obtained the rocket launcher? Or do you still want to grab that Void Gjallarhorn?
