With Destiny 2, the release of Shadowkeep is slowly approaching. Until then, the developers want to share a lot of interesting information on important topics with the fans. We will show what Bungie is planning before the release.
What is Shadowkeep? Shadowkeep is the name of the upcoming fall expansion for Destiny 2. It will be released on October 1, 2019, for PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
It will not only bring new content such as the Moon location, a new raid, or fresh exotics, but also numerous changes to the game – for example, to the in-game shop Eververse or the armor system.

What is the planned information flood about? Even though Bungie has already revealed some details about the new expansion, fans still have many unanswered questions – for example, about the new Armor 2.0 system or PvP. The studio aims to address many of these topics before the release of Shadowkeep.
Information roadmap until Shadowkeep – What Bungie wants to discuss
In the current “This Week at Bungie” blog, Bungie has now announced how they intend to satisfy the knowledge thirst of eager Guardians until October 1. The studio has a lot planned for this. Here’s what you can expect:
Insights into the learnings from Destiny 2 for Shadowkeep: Already next week (starting August 12), Destiny’s Franchise Director Luke Smith will release a kind of Director’s Cut on the current State of the Game.
In it, he will reflect on the past six months of Destiny 2, discuss what has been learned, and which changes will result from it for Shadowkeep.
This will actually be the first of two parts of the post. However, this part alone is expected to be over 4,100 words long. The second part is expected to follow shortly and will be of approximately the same length.
Armor customization preview: Also next week (on August 14), there will be a stream in which the developers want to highlight the new Armor 2.0 system and its possibilities. Bungie wants to show you how to “build a better monster-killing machine”.
In the live stream, the developers will assemble a Titan, a Warlock, and a Hunter. They will use various mods, artifacts, and ornaments on the armor and test the new builds in the sandbox.
Destiny 2 at Gamescom: Bungie will be present at the big gaming fair Gamescom, which opens on August 19 with the Opening Night Show (running until August 24). During the fair, there will be more new details about the Shadowkeep expansion.
The seasons in year 3 of Destiny 2: The developers also want to address how the seasons of Destiny 2 will change in the third year of the game.
So far, it is only known that the seasons will be independent of each other. This means they can all be purchased separately. So if you do not like the content of a specific season, you can simply skip it.
PvP in Shadowkeep: Many fans are curious about the future of Destiny 2’s Crucible. The developers also apparently want to address this topic before the launch. A PvP reveal is expected beforehand. Additionally, there should be an invite to the Crucible at the Penny Arcade Expo (PAX), which runs from August 30 to September 2.
What else is coming? Bungie has not yet provided an explicit answer to this. However, the studio emphasizes that the previously announced topics are just a few highlights, and there will be more. Everything will be compressed into a kind of final push in September.
