In Destiny 2, today, on January 16th, the servers are offline for maintenance. During the downtime, a patch is being deployed: Hotfix 1.1.1.3.
Update 8:58 PM: The servers are back online. You only need to download a small update when you log in. The patch notes are provided further down.
On this Tuesday, the Weekly Reset is scheduled to start at 6 PM along with the launch of the Faction Rally. However, you will have to wait a few more hours for these events, as Bungie is conducting a multi-hour maintenance right at the end of the workday here. The “Destiny 2” servers are offline.
Here are the important times on January 16, 2018:
- At 5 PM preparations for the maintenance begin. You can no longer log in. This affects PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
- At 6 PM all players still in Destiny 2 will be kicked. The servers will go offline.
- Around 9 PM the maintenance should end. Keep in mind that Bungie never sticks too closely to this schedule.
Once the servers are back online, you need to download and install the Hotfix 1.1.1.3 to be able to play Destiny 2 again.
What does the update 1.1.1.3 change?
The full patch notes for 1.1.1.3 will be published once the update is live. Update: The patch notes are now available! There is no surprise. The only change is that now all players without Curse of Osiris can access the Season 2 rewards in the Faction Rally and Iron Banner.
So far, it is known that 1.1.1.3 is meant to make the final preparations for the Faction Rally. It ensures that all seasonal content and events become accessible to all players. The requirement to own Curse of Osiris will be completely removed from these contents.
Up until now, it was the case that in Season 2, only owners of Curse of Osiris could participate in Iron Banner or the Faction Rally and earn the seasonal rewards.
Since 1.1.1.3 is just a hotfix, this is probably the only change being implemented today.
Due to the maintenance, the Weekly Reset article on Mein-MMO.de will be published late in the evening or tomorrow morning.
Until then, you can see here an overview of what our readers think about the endgame changes that Bungie plans in 2018.
