This week, the update 7.3.6 for the free event “Into the Light” will be released in Destiny 2. Here, you can find out how long the update will take, what the downtime looks like, and what you should know about the contents.
Here’s what you need to know today: Destiny 2 will undergo maintenance on April 9, 2024. This means the servers will go offline, so you won’t be able to play for some time. This is a longer downtime that will kick off the free event “Into the Light”.

Maintenance on April 09 – All times for server downtime
These times are important today: Bungie informs its players via x.com (formerly Twitter) about the exact downtime. It is planned that the servers will be unreachable for 4:15 hours today.
This is the maintenance schedule:
- At 14:00, background maintenance will start on all platforms.
- At approximately 14:45, the servers will go offline. Players will be automatically kicked from the game.
- At 19:00, the shooter is expected to be back online, and you can log in again.
- The maintenance will continue in the background until 21:00.
Also, keep in mind that third-party applications and the official companion app may also be incorrectly accessible for a while, meaning you cannot use them.
What changes with the new update in Season 23
The following issues are known: Even in the Season of Wishes, there are many problems that players are reporting. Bungie has some of them on their radar, but it is not known which ones will be fixed (via bungie.net). However, the following bugs could be addressed:
- Major changes regarding the sandbox for PvP are to be rolled out.
- The fireteam finder lacks some options such as adding Bungie friends.
- Some legendary emotes are sorted with exotic emotes.
- Veist rifles can only be partially rotated when inspected.
- The shotgun “Thoughttwister’s Aspiration” no longer glows when fired.
- Some rocket launchers are no longer displayed when inspected.
- Old artifacts are still displayed in players’ inventories.
