21:00: The servers are now offline for the second time today for emergency maintenance. An update will be provided within 1 hour, which does not mean you can play again then. Apparently, the problems are deep and the support staff at Bungie are doing their best to get it all under control. Now we have to keep our fingers crossed that the second server downtime goes better.
20:30: Destiny 2 will be sent into emergency server maintenance for the second time today due to the ongoing error messages and will therefore go offline. Downtime begins at 21:00. An end time has not yet been announced. Players should prepare for updates.
19:00: The community manager of Destiny 2 has issued the following statement to players regarding today’s ongoing issues:
“We know it’s frustrating, and the team is working as hard and efficiently as possible. The live service is difficult, to be honest, but the team will share further updates via @BungieHelp. 17:00: The guardianship is divided. While some have been able to play again since this afternoon, others are still receiving error codes, such as “Chicken”. An error code that usually occurs when there are connection problems with Destiny 2. However, Bungie has still not made a statement regarding these new errors that have occurred for some players after the maintenance.
12:30: Some players are still facing issues. While we were able to enjoy the Crucible on PC without problems, other players are currently receiving the error code “Chicken” and still cannot log in. So far, there is no official information from Bungie about whether this will require further action from the developer. We will keep an eye on it.
11:30: Bungie has now also reported that the servers are back online. Maintenance is complete and web functions have been reactivated. If you still have issues, you can report them directly in the Bungie forum.

Background Maintenance on June 8 – All Times for Server Downtime
From maintenance to emergency server downtime: Early in the morning, Bungie informed players today that they planned a harmless background maintenance.
Destiny 2 will undergo a full-day backend maintenance starting in 2 hours today. After the maintenance begins, players can click on “Orbit” at the end of the activity to return to the title screen. Players who log in again should not expect any further interruptions.

Here is the exact schedule for the maintenance:
- At 06:00 AM German time, players were informed about the background work.
- At 08:00 AM, Bungie started the maintenance. There were brief server disconnects.
- The expected login should then be possible again around 10:00 AM.
Additionally, consider that third-party applications and the official companion app might not be accessible correctly for a while, so you won’t be able to use them.
