In Destiny 2, the servers are down today, December 1st. Maintenance work is being carried out. You can find out how long the servers will be offline and all info about the server status for PS4, Xbox One, and PC here.
Update: The servers have been back online since around 10:30 PM.
December begins for the Guardians with an extended server maintenance. This was actually supposed to take place yesterday, but it was postponed to December 1st.
Here are all the important times for December 1st:
- At 5 PM, preparations for maintenance on PS4, Xbox One, and PC will begin. You will not be able to log into Destiny 2.
- At 6 PM, the servers will be shut down. If you are still in the game now, you will be returned to the login screen.
- Around 11 PM, the work should be completed.
Keep in mind that Bungie is usually quite vague about the timing for the end of the server downtime. It is possible that you can start playing again significantly earlier, or also significantly later.
What will change after the maintenance on December 1st?
No patch will be deployed today. Bungie states that they will not bring any gameplay content or updates during maintenance.
This means that the developers are only tinkering a bit in the background on the servers today. They are likely preparing the infrastructure for the upcoming expansion “Curse of Osiris”.
So you have plenty of time today to read up on all the information about the future of Destiny 2. Bungie recently published a detailed blog post as well as a podcast discussing the upcoming system changes in December and other innovations coming in 2018.
