In Destiny 2, a short downtime is being conducted for the release of Season 19. The servers will go offline today, on December 6th, for update 6.3.0 on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, PC, and Google Stadia. MeinMMO will accompany the server downtime and inform you when you cannot play.
What is happening today in Destiny 2? This afternoon, the Bungie servers will be taken offline one last time in Season 18. When they come back online, the Guardians will officially enter Season 19. Their new content is eagerly awaited.
It is already known about the new seasonal content:
- A final epilogue last hinted at a possible return of Osiris with the infused knowledge of Savathun.
- This was spiced up with rumors from the community about Xivu Arath, Savathun’s sister, and the return of a well-known Warmind named Rasputin.
- The new trailer for Season 19 is currently highly anticipated by the Guardians.
The Hive goddess of war seeks to gain control over Rasputin’s network of weapon satellites. If she succeeds, she would use its devastating power against the Last City. To stop her, the Vanguard has approved special secret missions in which cutting-edge weapons will be used. The agents who carry out these missions are known as Seraphs.

Maintenance on 12/06 – All times and server downtime
The exact update times for today were already set by Bungie last week. They have since been slightly adjusted, so the information from the “This Week at Bungie” blog is no longer current. However, we offer you all the information with the current German times. This way, you can better plan your gaming day today, as the server downtime for the update begins today in the early afternoon.
All times at a glance:
- At 2:00 PM German time, maintenance will begin in the background on all platforms.
- From 3:30 PM the servers will go offline and you will be automatically kicked from all activities.
- Around 6:00 PM, the servers are expected to come back online, and update 6.3.0 for Season 19 will be made available on all platforms and regions from then on.
- The maintenance work will continue in the background and should end around 7:00 PM.
Also, keep in mind that third-party applications and the official Companion app may also not function correctly for a while after the downtime.
What changes with update 6.3.0 in Destiny 2
This update brings today: After update 6.3.0, the Guardians can expect a new week, a new season, a new season pass, and much more.
Among the changes in the Season 19 starting today are:
- The launch of a new dungeon, which goes live on December 9, 2022, at 6:00 PM.
- A new game crossover with Assassin’s Creed, which equips the Guardians with new cosmetics.
- Some non-raid weapons will gain access to new perk advantages.
- You will be able to craft and farm weapons from the Deep Stone Crypt raid. Crafting will include a newly designed perk pool. You will get a guaranteed curated weapon of your choice by purchasing it from the chest at the final boss.
- Season 19 will bring a comprehensive class ability update to the game.
- Players can also expect an optimization of the perk “A Brief Moment”. In addition, Bungie plans to revise 20 weapon perks to improve glaive hit recognition.
- In PvP, a new ranking system is coming, and the Iron Banner armor rewards will be revamped.
- Planetary materials will also be obsolete starting Season 19. You can trade them for Glimmer.
- Last but not least, you can also expect 26 weapon buffs and nerfs in the new Season 19. These include both bitter and extremely pointless changes that only a few players understand.
These are the known issues: There are still known issues that are currently affecting the game. Fixes may be part of the new update that could go online alongside the new content.
- Enemies no longer spawn when entering the “Starlight Chamber” Lost Sector too quickly.
- Player name changes are not adjustable via bungie.net. Players are still waiting for the option to customize their usernames more than once instead of just once.
Important note regarding the additional mod slot of the “Artful Armor”
In the past, there have been recurring issues with the 5th mod slot of the Artful Armor.
Artifact mods could therefore cause problems due to the known issue with the “Artful Armor”, as they might be lost with the season start and then you won’t have a 5th mod slot.
If you notice any other issues in the game, we recommend reporting them directly via the official Bungie Help Forum to make the developers aware of them.
