Today it’s time to keep your fingers crossed, because Destiny 2 is getting a new update. After last week’s long downtime, the Guardians hope that it will now run more smoothly with Hotfix 6.3.0.7 on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X and PC. We are as always on the ball and keep you updated with all the info about the downtime.
18:05: Bungie has also released the patch notes right after. You can find the link to them further down in the article.
18:00: The update is ready. The download on PC is 120.2 MB. After you have downloaded it, you should be able to log in again.
17:45: The Destiny 2 servers have just gone offline. Now it’s time to wait until Bungie finishes implementing the latest update.
What you need to know today: Today, Hotfix 6.3.0.7 is ready to launch and will cause Destiny 2 to be offline for a while. Some Guardians might already be preparing as last week the traditional “Update Tuesday” was unexpectedly not a good day to play a round of Destiny 2.
- Bungie had issues with a migration process that led to a severe configuration error. The result: the usual casual 15 minutes of server down became a grueling 20 hours including a rollback.
As with any live service game, large or small changes can always lead to unforeseen problems. However, we hope that things will run better this week. Bungie has also promised its players that they will “always act quickly to fix [bugs in Destiny 2] when they appear.”
Today’s update has already been preceded by an extended background maintenance from Bungie. MeinMMO will now tell you exactly when you can’t play and what issues are currently affecting the loot shooter.
You can watch more about the new DLC in this Lightfall trailer:
Additionally, you can look forward to a quality of life update for deep sight weapons:
- The weekly focusing of deep sight weapons with the red border will be changed to a daily focusing per vendor for the rest of the season. This applies to vendors offering a guaranteed deep sight weapon focusing in seasons 16 to 18.
Maintenance on 31.01. – All Times and Server Down
These times are important today: Bungie’s update routine for today is already set. They want to return to the usual downtime of 15 minutes (via. bungie.net).
Here are the exact times when you won’t be able to play:
- At 17:00 German time, background maintenance will start on all platforms.
- From 17:45 the servers will go offline and players will be automatically kicked from all activities.
- Third-party applications as well as the official companion app will also be out of function.
- At around 18:00 the servers should come back online for update 6.3.0.7 on all platforms. After successfully downloading it, you can log back into the game.
- The ongoing background maintenance will officially end at 19:00 if everything goes smoothly.
Also, keep in mind that third-party applications as well as the official companion app may still not be accessible correctly for a while after the update, and you won’t be able to move equipment or purchase bounties.
What changes with Hotfix 6.3.0.7 in Season 19
Here’s what today’s hotfix brings: As always, we show you which issues are currently present in Destiny 2. This includes both bugs that Bungie is already aware of, those we have noticed ourselves, and also issues that our readers have brought to our attention.
Excerpt of already known issues in Destiny 2:
- Players have noticed that blue engrams drop significantly more often than before. However, an adjustment is already in the works to completely solve the issue with blues. However, this has not yet been able to be activated immediately and fully.
- Trials rank-ups remain on the screen longer than intended. They can pop up multiple times, impairing the view of active abilities.
- Guardians complain about unfair teammates who intentionally keep them from flawless triumphs of the seasons by killing them with a Titan slam or the sword.
- The “Abominable Imperative” quest cannot be activated when the inventory is full.
- Players cannot progress beyond step 6 on the Enigma quest at the Proof Table in the enclave, nor can they progress on other weapon crafting quests.
- The intrinsic perks of the “Hunter’s Traces” for “Revision Zero” are not unlocked when players complete all steps of the “If You Accept This” weapon quests simultaneously.
- The acquisition of bounties via the Destiny Companion App is noticeably slower than desired.
- Players cannot change their names via bungie.net. Players are still waiting for the option to customize their username multiple times instead of just once.
- The Deep Sight boots are partially not visible in the armor ornaments menu.
- Searching for fireteams in the Companion app does not work for accounts whose main characters are from Stadia.
If you encounter any other issues in the game, it is recommended to report them directly through the official Bungie Help Forum to make developers aware of them. Alternatively, you can leave us a comment if you are aware of any other errors in the game.
