In Destiny 2 resumes support work and brings the first downtime of 2023. Therefore, today, on January 11 an update is coming to the game. We will tell you when the servers on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, PC, and Google Stadia will go offline, and why part of this hotfix 6.3.0.3 will please many players.
What you need to know today: Bungie officially resumes support routine today, and thus the first update of the new year is approaching for players. Hotfix 6.3.0.3 is on the way, and Bungie has planned an important quality-of-life change in the update that will please many players.
However, the update also means that you will face a small downtime this evening during which you cannot play. MeinMMO will accompany you during the update and update this article with fresh information so you won’t miss anything.
7:30 PM: Bungie has released the patch notes for the update. You can find them further down in the article.
6:10 PM: With a slight delay, the servers are back online. Hotfix 6.3.0.3 is currently being rolled out and you can start the download. On PC, it is 133.7 MB in size.
5:45 PM: The Destiny 2 servers are now offline. You have 15 minutes for a gaming break.
5:00 PM: The background maintenance for Destiny 2 has just started. You have 45 minutes to finish your current activities before the Destiny 2 servers go offline for 15 minutes.
Immediately after the update, players can return to the activities of the Season of the Seraph and find out how to tactically thwart the plans of Xivu Arath without playing into her hands.

Update 6.3.0.3 on 01/11 – All times and server downtime
For each update, Bungie announces precise downtime times during which players cannot play. We provide you this information in our article with the German times. This way, you can plan your gaming evening perfectly.
Overview of all times:
- At 5:00 PM German time, maintenance work in the background starts on all platforms.
- From 5:45 PM, the servers will go offline and you will be automatically kicked from all activities.
- Around 6:00 PM, the servers are expected to be back online and update 6.3.0.3 will be rolled out for all platforms. After downloading, you can log back into the game.
- The ongoing background maintenance will officially end at 7:00 PM, provided everything goes smoothly.
Also, keep in mind that third-party applications as well as the official Companion App may not be properly accessible for a while after the update.
Note for all Stadia users: On January 18, 2023 Stadia will be shut down and players will lose access to their Destiny 2 characters. Anyone wanting to avoid this must set up Cross Save on another platform by this time. Bungie has ensured that players can use their characters on linked platforms even after Stadia shuts down.
What changes with update 6.3.0.3 in season 19
Since there was no “This Week at Bungie” blog over the holidays, not much information on long-term planned changes is currently known. However, Bungie has made several advance announcements and may address some old issues and new bugs directly in the first update.
This advance announcement of a change has already been made by Bungie:
- Armor mods will be immediately available to all players after today’s update. This means that no one has to wait until mods are finally available for purchase from NPC merchants in the rotation. Thanks to this change, everyone can use them immediately and directly for their builds – without restrictions.
Current list of known issues:
- At game startup, some players receive the error code “Centipede”. Only on the second start can they log into the game normally.
- On the Europa and Mars maps for heist battlegrounds, enemies can suddenly appear when players enter certain areas.
- On some PCs, using Alt-Tab to access the desktop while playing in fullscreen mode can cause the game to freeze and require a restart of the game.
- The exotic dungeon bow “Hierarchy of Claims” does not penetrate Hydra or Phalanx shields correctly when combined with the Armor Mod “Piercing Bowstring”.
- The charge flag sometimes does not work in the second encounter of the source activity.
- Players on Xbox One consoles cannot join other players from the game Fireteams unless they are in the same bubble.
- Player name changes cannot be customized via bungie.net. Players are still waiting for the option to adjust their usernames multiple times instead of just once.
- The exotic scout rifle “Jade Rabbit” is currently disabled because its exotic effect could also transfer to other weapons, dealing headshot damage on body hits.
