There are server issues on PS4 for Destiny 2 today, September 7th. Players are unable to log in. “Your permission to access the online multiplayer may have changed or your profile may have been signed in elsewhere.” PSN issues.
Update 1:25 PM: Bungie reports that the problem has been resolved.
The launch of Destiny 2 went surprisingly smoothly for most Guardians. They were spared from error codes and had to wait in queues for only a short time.
However, today on Thursday, things are different. Guardians on PS4 are being plagued by a strange error message when they try to enter Destiny 2. The message reads:
Warning – Your connection to the Destiny 2 servers has been lost. Your permission to access the online multiplayer may have changed or your profile may have been signed in elsewhere.
What is this server outage about? – PSN down?
Bungie has been working on the issue since around 4 AM (September 7th). The last status update was at 6 AM: they are still investigating the problem. Currently, just before 9 AM, the outage is still present. However, it seems that not all PS4 accounts are affected.
How long the issue will last is not known. If you can’t get into the game, now you know that you are not alone.
By the way: The PlayStation account tweeted that users report they are unable to access PSN. This issue is being investigated. I just checked myself – I can log in to PSN and play other online games, but I can’t get into Destiny 2.
Known Issues at Launch
Bungie also released the list of known issues at launch:
- BNET 503 Errors: This is an issue on Bungie.net.
- Cabbage Errors: A login error code
- PS4 Pro Crashes: Destiny 2 can sometimes crash on PS4 Pro
- Xbox Release Date: Even if the wrong release date is displayed, Destiny 2 has been live on Xbox since September 6th.
- Nessus: If you fall off a cliff in the Sunken Caverns, the Ghost can be placed at a spot from where you cannot continue playing. You then need to return to orbit.
- Cinematics: Only the fireteam leader can skip cinematics.
- The armor perk “Linear Actuators” does not always trigger correctly.
- Nightfall Strike: It is recommended that all players in the fireteam are present when the activity starts. There may be issues with “joining late”.
