Destiny 2 is getting new pinnacle weapons in Season 5. The developers at Bungie have now shown these in action for the first time.
Today, on November 27, 2018, Season 5 begins after the Update 2.1.0, the Season of the Forge. This brings several new features and content to the game. Among them are three new pinnacle weapons that Guardians can chase after starting this evening.
What does the video show? Bungie has released three short clips that showcase each of the three pinnacle weapons for the first time in action. YouTuber Aztecross Gaming has compiled the clips into a video and analyzed the footage.
These are the three new pinnacle weapons:
Rocket Launcher: First up is the rocket launcher “The Mountaintop”, being used by a Hunter in the Crucible. It is clear how powerful this rocket launcher is in PvP. Even if the grenade doesn’t hit directly, it still deals massive damage to the opponent and can kill almost any wounded enemy – mind you, as a primary weapon.
Fusion Rifle: Next, the new fusion rifle “Fangfrage” is showcased by a Warlock using Lunafaction Boots against AI enemies. With the combination of Rift and boots, the weapon’s battery stays fully charged, allowing the effect of the unique perk to be seen in action.
Auto Rifle: Finally, the auto rifle Neckbreaker comes into play. This pinnacle weapon is used by a Titan with a Barricade. The weapon takes down an entire horde of rushing AI enemies and impressively demonstrates the strength of its special perk, which increases the fire rate of the rifle.
