Players have found a new weapon and armor in Destiny 2 from Beyond Light. It is said to be another Exotic from Season 12.
What is the deal with the weapon? On November 10, the Beyond Light expansion launches. In recent weeks, Bungie has excited players with many trailers and information about the DLC. Particularly, the new 10 Exotics have been received very well.
When the roadmap for Season 12 was presented, players were a bit puzzled. There are 12 new Exotics mentioned by name. In addition to the already introduced items, 2 more weapons are joining:
- Hawkmoon
- Duality
That “Hawkmoon” is returning was clear, as Destiny head Luke Smith announced this a few months ago. This leaves only the mystery: What is the deal with “Duality”?
This has now been leaked: Players found a new image of the Beyond Light expansion in the Xbox Store, specifically on the rewards page there.
In the image, we see a Titan in front, carrying an unknown weapon. Additionally, the armors of the three Guardians have not been seen anywhere yet.
The image likely shows a secret Exotic and armor from the Season of the Hunt
This is said to be the Exotic shotgun Duality: Like all information about the new expansion, this news is being closely examined by the Destiny community. On Raidsecrets (via reddit), the Guardians concluded – this is Duality, the new Exotic shotgun:
- The weapon looks too elaborate for a legendary gun
- It is a hunting shotgun, as it doesn’t have a scope like a sniper rifle or scout and lacks a large magazine like an LMG
- Players have known concept art of a double-barreled shotgun since Forsaken (via reddit) – it fits that the typical “Dreaming City” decoration seems to be at the bottom of the weapon’s barrel
- In summer 2020, some leaks about a secret shotgun named Duality surfaced (via Twitter)
- According to the leak, it should feature 2 different fire modes: Hip-firing will shoot a buckshot, while aiming will fire a slug like the Chaperone
Given this information, the Guardians conclude that what we see in the image is the exotic shotgun Duality. However, keep in mind that this is by no means official information from Bungie, and it could also be a different weapon.
Where will the items come from? The detectives among the Guardians are divided on the source from which you will get the weapon and the armors in Beyond Light. However, two theories have emerged:
- This is the gear from the new Season Pass: This is suggested by the way the image is structured. The promo material from previous seasons looked very similar. You often saw 3 Guardians wearing new armors and proudly holding the special season weapon in front of the camera.
- This is equipment from the new raid of Beyond Light: It is clear that a new raid exotic and special armors from the Deep Stone Crypt are coming. However, Bungie traditionally keeps images or information about them until the World First race. We only have a small teaser image – on which players say they can see the distinctive helmet of the Titan.
