Shortly after the beginning of Season 7, players in Destiny 2 discovered a new secret area that is not yet regularly accessible. Fans are now wondering what this place is about.
This area is about: While scouring the area “The Infinite Forest” on Io (far in the south or bottom of the map), some clever Guardians stumbled upon a completely new area. This apparently came into play only with the last major Update 2.5.0.1, which heralded the Season 7 of Destiny 2.
This new area is still isolated from the regular game world and cannot be entered in the usual way. Players have therefore glitched themselves in there for research purposes.
What is hidden in this area? After accessing the area, the players set out to extensively explore this new zone.
This is a massive cave complex characterized by Vex architecture, traces of the Taken, mysterious structures, and a gigantic spherical structure.
Some static enemy and Guardian models were also found in there, which apparently serve as spawn points for enemies and Guardians when this area goes live.
This is what the fans are currently discussing: The find is currently causing various debates within the community. Guardians are wondering what this new area could be about.
The prevailing opinion, however, is that it is likely to be a new dungeon-like mission in the style of Whisper of the Worm or The Zero Hour for the Perfected Outbreak, which will go live at some point during Season 7. It is presumed that players will be hunting a new Exotic there, according to fans’ speculation.
Which weapons are possible? Theoretically, it could include the Exotic rocket launcher Truth or the exotic hand cannon Rose. Both weapon Exotics are confirmed for Season 7.
However, according to data mining, none of these two weapons is tied to a mission of this kind – unless all data is not yet in the game, the data miners are mistaken, or they simply haven’t found everything in this context yet.
The most likely reward for this mission currently is considered to be the exotic Pulse Rifle Bad Juju. This is also expected to return this season. Initial data related to this weapon has already been found in the game – but nothing regarding the quest. However, fans believe it is likely that this weapon could be hidden behind such a mission.
While it is still speculated that Hawkmoon might also return this season, so far, no hints have been found for this weapon apart from the leak from AnonTheNine. We will keep you updated as soon as there is a new development on this.
