With the start of Season 22, also known as “Season of the Witch,” in August 2023, the loot shooter Destiny 2 has received three new armor Exotics. We will tell you what they are and what they can do.
Which armor Exotics were added? A total of three new armor Exotics have been added for Season 22. One for each class as a gauntlet.
- The “Firestorm” gauntlet for the Titan
- The “Mothkeeper Shawl” gauntlet for the Hunter
- The “Thornbind” gauntlet for the Warlock
These Exotic armors promise not only a new aesthetic but also unique abilities that enhance the gameplay experience in Destiny 2. You can optimize your tactical options and builds in every class, and you can even get the moths.
To let you know what the fancy gauntlets can do, we will introduce you to the three Exotic armors in this article.
The Titan becomes a candelabrum with “Firestorm”
What can the Exotic do? The new armor Exotic “Firestorm” for the Titan is Solar-oriented. It is practical because it makes a little-used super and one aspect of the Titan meaningful again. And we all know: Titans always think with their fists.
- With the Exotic perk of the Titan Exotic “Firestorm” “Shattering Flames,” your Flamehammer super will become a single high-damage hit that generates five flame whirlwinds. The second hit of the Anoint creates a flame whirlwind.
The Warlock summons a strong soul with “Thornbind”
What can the Exotic do? With this new Exotic, you can enable your Void Warlock to deal more damage. Your Warlock will become the ultimate soul whisperer and summoner of the Void.
- The perk “One with the Void” of the Warlock Exotic “Thornbind” makes your Void Souls last longer. Additionally, they gain increasing damage and duration when you defeat targets. You can retrieve a Void Soul by interacting with it to re-deploy it.
The Hunter has his own moth mania with the “Mothkeeper Shawl”
What can the Exotic do? With this Exotic, you and your Hunter can literally get the moths. After the exploding moths recently made life difficult for you with the “The Witch Queen” DLC, you can now attack with them as well.
On one hand, you wear your moth on your shoulder with this Exotic. On the other hand, this moth will enhance your grenades with additional “Moth Power.” Even a Warlock with his Strand Aphids might get jealous.
- With the Exotic perk “Winged Eclipse,” your grenade with the Hunter Exotic “Mothkeeper Shawl” becomes a cage of so-called “Faithful Moths” that are released upon impact and fly to the next target or ally. If they hit a target, they detonate in a dazzling explosion. If they hit an ally, they grant the ally a Void overshield.
Here you can watch the trailer for the new Season 22:
How to get the armors: In the “Season of the Witch,” you can earn the Exotics through two ways.
- First, through the solo completion of Legend and Master Lost Sectors.
- As a note: Currently, it is sometimes not shown in-game that you can also get the Exotics through the Lost Sectors. This seems to be just a display error. When you fly to the active sector, the Exotic drop will be correctly displayed there.
- You can find out which armor pieces are active on each day on light.gg
- The faster way to the new Exotics is the public Vex Strike Force event on Neomuna. It occurs intermittently in the Vex Invasion Zone and guarantees an Exotic drop.
What do you think of the new Exotics? Have you been lucky enough to get them? Then feel free to let us and other Destiny players know in the comments how you feel about the new Exotic options and how you see strong builds with them.
This aspect from Season 22 is definitely a little too strong and therefore even more fun:
