With the launch of the Forsaken expansion and the start of Season 4, the Trials of the Nine and the team fights in Destiny 2 will take a hiatus and undergo rework.

In the current “This Week at Bungie” blog, the developers announced this drastic yet necessary step. The weekly PvP activity Trials of the Nine and the Faction Rally will take forced leave and will be sent back to the drawing board with the start of Season 4.
Bungie revamps the Trials and the team fights
The Trials of the Nine have not been very well received by players in their current form. Since release, the mode has struggled with constantly declining player numbers. Similarly, the Faction Rallies continue to receive criticism despite rework . Therefore, Bungie is removing both modes from the game at the end of Season 3 and sending them back to the drawing board.
Trials of the Nine: The Trials will be absent for the entire duration of Season 4. Bungie has already confirmed this. They want to align this activity more closely with the desires of hardcore PvP fans. When the Trials return, there will be new rewards, level advantages, and further gameplay changes.
By the way: The last Trials weekend of Season 3 will start on August 24, 2018

The team fights: The Faction Rallies will again take a break with the start of Season 4 – even though they have already been reworked for Season 3. However, even in their current form, there has been considerable criticism from the Guardians. Bungie now wants to use this feedback to fundamentally improve the event again.
Whether the team fights will be absent for the entire duration of Season 4 is still unclear. However, the new season will start without this activity. More information is expected after the launch of Forsaken.
The faction-specific catalysts: Bungie is currently working on integrating new ways to earn the three faction-related masterwork catalysts from Season 3. Thus, players who have not managed to obtain the catalysts in the current season will have a chance to get them after all. However, these will also initially not be available at the start of Season 4.
These changes are also expected in Season 4:
- These are weapon mods and the masterwork system in Forsaken
- Forsaken makes the 10th Better Devils interesting in Destiny 2
- In Destiny 2, ammunition and weapon type determine the weapon slots
- These changes for the Crucible are brought by Forsaken
What do you think of this step? Right decision or should all of this have been ready for the launch of Forsaken?
