Season 18 in Destiny 2 has been released, bringing six new and cool Exotics that Guardians can chase after. We will show you what they can do, where to get them, and most importantly, what they look like.
Which Exotics are there? In total, Guardians receive six new Exotics to chase. Three of them are armor pieces, while the others are new Exotic weapons.
The following are known:
- Quecksilbersturm – Kinetic Auto Rifle
- Zartes Grab – Arc Fusion Rifle
- Boshafte Berührung – Kinetic Scout Rifle
- Gefallener Sonnenstern – Warlock Helm
- Harnisch des Jagdfalken – Hunter Chest Piece
- Punktkontakt-Kanonenstativ – Titan Gauntlets
We will now go into detail and show you a brief overview of what the new Exotics in the loot shooter can do.
If you haven’t seen the trailer for the new season yet, just check here what to expect:
Quecksilbersturm
Where do you get the weapon? You can acquire this auto rifle only by pre-ordering the “Lightfall” DLC along with the annual pass. That would currently total 99.99 € in official stores. If you have pre-ordered it, you just need to go to Rahool, the Cryptarch in the Tower. He will then hand you your pre-order items.
What can the weapon do? The auto rifle has a full stability bar and optimal range. With a fire rate of 720, its fire resembles a silver hail of bullets. But now, its exotic talents come into play. While you hit enemies with your weapon, a rocket is generated from your mercury barrel using nanotechnology.
This seeks its target and deals a significant amount of damage on impact. If you are more accurate, you can generate several rockets with one magazine.
If that weren’t enough, you receive a grenade launcher round for each rocket fired, which you can fire separately alongside your magazine. You can store three rounds in your reserves, independent of your magazine.
Zartes Grab
Where do you get the weapon? You can obtain this extravagant fusion rifle in Season 18 either at level 1 of the paid path or at level 35 of the free season pass.
What can the weapon do? This is an Arc fusion rifle with optimal stats. However, its unique feature is its projectile spread. When you aim, you fire a vertical shot, while firing from the hip gives a horizontal shot. Additionally, the weapon has a chance to create ionic traces when killing smaller enemies. When hitting Guardians and bosses, you always receive an ionic trace.
If you collect these, your weapon will charge up and shock your enemies when you fire next. With a good Arc build, this weapon can certainly tear through many opponents at once.
Boshafte Berührung
Where do you get the weapon? Little is known about Boshafte Berührung. In Destiny 1, it was tied to a time-consuming quest. We believe you will receive the exotic scout rifle from the Kingsfall raid if you successfully defeat Oryx, provided loot luck is on your side.
What can the weapon do? In Destiny 1, it was a sadistic weapon. When you reached the last bullet in your magazine, the magazine wouldn’t empty, but you could continue firing merrily. The problem, however, was that the weapon would also brutally drain your life while firing.
For this agony, you dealt double the damage. So it was a good deal, especially in combination with the immortal bubble in the Kingsfall raid. Additionally, this scout rifle could fire fully automatically. We’ll have to see if Boshafte remains just as vicious in Destiny 2.
Gefallener Sonnenstern
Where do you get the helmet? You can obtain the helmet from legendary lost sectors where exotic helmets can be farmed.
What can the helmet do? The Gefallener Sonnenstern enhances your ionic traces. They move faster and grant you additional ability energy. Allies also receive ability energy while you collect your ionic traces.
Harnisch des Jagdfalken
Where do you get the chest piece? You can obtain the chest piece from legendary lost sectors where exotic chest pieces can be farmed.
What can the chest piece do? This chest piece provides Hunters with increased damage when they become invisible just before attacking. If you eliminate an enemy with a finisher while invisible, you and your allies gain a reserve overshield and increased class ability regeneration. You can use the reserve shield when you activate your class ability.
Punktkontakt-Kanonenstativ
Where do you get the gauntlets? You can get the gauntlets from legendary lost sectors where exotic gauntlets can be farmed.
What can the gauntlets do? This Exotic really packs a punch. With Arc 3.0, the Titan received a new melee ability called “Thunderclap”. This can be charged and unleash a powerful electric punch upon your enemies. With this Exotic, you greatly enhance your Thunderclap move.
You regain melee energy when you eliminate someone with Thunderclap. Additionally, surrounding enemies receive electric strikes when you use your move. And when you are boosted with Arc, the reach of the generated electric strikes increases.
