In Destiny 2, the expansion Beyond Light has just launched. However, next week the Season of the Hunt will kick off properly.
What’s new: On November 10, the major expansion Destiny 2: Beyond Light Release was celebrated. Most Guardians are likely still engaged in exploring Europe and fighting for the new Stasis abilities. But Bungie already has the next hot topic on the agenda.
On November 17, Season 12, the Season of the Hunt, will properly begin. Some of the content of this Season launched alongside the expansion. However, the seasonal story and the big hunt have thus far been kept under wraps.

In the Season of the Hunt, you will make a dangerous deal
The video shows:
- The story of Season 12 ties into the final event where the Darkness swallowed half the solar system.
- Osiris needs your help to investigate the effects of that.
- The War Goddess of the Hive, Xivu Arath, wants to fill the power vacuum that has emerged – by the way, this nice lady is the sister of Oryx and Savathûn.
- To deal with the new threat, Guardians will have to make a deal with the black market dealer Spider.
- The trailer then hits us with hunting vocabulary like “Follow the trail” or “Track the prey”.
- We then see the new seasonal activity “Wrathborn Hunt” in the Tangled Shore and the Dreaming City.
- Afterwards, it’s about Exotics of Season 12: Duality and Hawkmoon.

What is a season in Destiny 2? Destiny relies on two methods to provide Guardians with new content. Once a year, a major DLC, like Beyond Light, is released. Between the DLCs, there are 4 seasons per year that tell a story but are separate from the DLC.
- Seasons provide smaller content bites over a specific period to give you reasons to log in repeatedly.
- Season 12 runs until February 2021 – Bungie has confirmed, however, that the FOMO aspect will be reduced: You can still access certain seasonal content even after it ends.

- You do not have to purchase Season 12 to play Beyond Light.
- Many contents like the seasonal artifact, the Season Pass, or events and even new gear are free for all Destiny players.
- However, purchasers of a Season (1,000 Silver – about €10) will receive additional loot from the Season Pass and access to quests or activities.
