Many players had hoped that the current “This Week at Bungie” blog would finally reveal some details about the upcoming Season 11 of Destiny 2. That was not the case. And it looks like we might not get this information until shortly before or at the start of the new season.
No information on the new season yet: In Destiny 2, the current Season 10 is set to end on June 9, which is less than 2 weeks away, and Season 11 will start. However, fresh information about the next season is scarce. While Bungie has already provided some insights on
we essentially know nothing about the setting, the story – that is, what awaits the Guardians soon.
Previous developments in the game suggest that we might face a massive force of Darkness for the first time. However, this has not been confirmed yet.
Officially, it is only known that Season 11 aims to bring together many things and developments in Destiny 2. This season is supposed to be something very special – unlike any other season before.
What this concretely means – we might have to wait until the start of Season 11 to find out.
When will fresh information about Season 11 finally come? In the current TWaB, there were only cryptic hints. However, it looks like Season 11 will only be revealed with its start or on the launch day.
According to This Week at Bungie, they look forward to continuing the dialogue and evolving Destiny together. And they can’t wait to show us in 12 days what they have been working on.
This will be on June 9, likely right at the start of the new season. It might mean that players will finally be able to experience the new content themselves. But it doesn’t sound like they’ll share any information before that.
By the way, this will happen in the form of a stream on the “usual channels”, likely on YouTube and Twitch.
Information about the autumn expansion will come with the Season 11 reveal: What’s interesting is that it also seems like there will be first news about the upcoming major autumn expansion at the same time as the information about the next season.
In the TWaB, it is mentioned: “You will learn new things about the next season of Destiny 2 while we talk about the next chapter of this story that has been unfolding for years.” This can only refer to the autumn expansion and plans for Year 4.
Bungie had already announced this in the course of its information offensive, which it has now apparently paused for some time. But this seems to be the notorious calm before the storm. Because soon there should be much more information than just about the upcoming Season 11.
