In short: Seasons refer to new content that is introduced into the game over a specific period.

Everything You Need to Know About Season 10 of Destiny 2
When exactly does Season 10 start? It kicks off on Tuesday, March 10, 2020. Along with the reset at 18:00 CET, it’s happening. The Season of the Worthy will last about three months, until June 9, 2020.
As usual, the Destiny servers will go offline shortly before the start, and you will need to download an update. We will provide you with fresh information regarding this tomorrow and accompany the release.
The Story of Season 10 in Destiny 2
Together with Shadowkeep and Season 8, Year 3 of Destiny 2 was initiated. Since then, our actions have been driving the story forward:
- We prevented a Vex invasion and changed the future
- Our enemies also wanted to change the future in Season 9 and worked on the timeline
- Together with Osiris and the freed Saint-14, the efforts of the Cabal were thwarted
This is how the story continues in the Season of the Worthy: The Cabal, in their despair, let their massive fleet ship, the Almighty, crash into the Last City. To avert the looming danger from orbit, the Guardians need the help of the Warmind Rasputin.
This alliance is very dangerous. Hardly anyone knows what the powerful Rasputin really plans. In a surprising cutscene, Season 9 showed how Osiris confronts the Warmind and urges it to choose a side. In Season 10, besides Rasputin, Commander Zavala and Ana Bray will also take center stage in the story.
Check out this great trailer for the Season of the Worthy in German:
In the trailer, we see that in order to gain Rasputin’s help, we will need to activate Warmind facilities everywhere. Whether we will prove worthy to Rasputin over the course of Season 10 or if another power will come into play remains to be seen.

According to Bungie, more secrets are yet to come for the Guardians. The players should be surprised that Destiny 2 does not want to repeat the mistakes of Season 9.
This is what awaits you in PvE in the Season of the Worthy: In order for the powerful Warmind Rasputin to help us, we need to get his systems online. We will do this in three activities:

These contents will disappear from Destiny 2 when Season 10 starts: Before the release of Shadowkeep and the start of Year 2, Bungie announced that Destiny 2 might be concerned with removing old seasonal content.
