Bungie has responded to fan criticism regarding the new activity “Forging the Chain” in Destiny 2. As the studio announced, the mode will now be more accessible. The changes are already live.
What happened? As Bungie recently announced in its own blog, it has heard the loud criticism concerning the power level requirements of the new activity “Forging the Chain” and has already made initial changes. The studio recognized that the level requirement for the new activity of the “Black Armory” DLC was set too high.
What has changed: Now, as a first step, they have lowered the required power level for the individual rounds in the forge. The recommended power level for the forge was previously 610.
However, in the first round, enemies were already at level 615, in the second at 625, and the boss in the third and final round had a power level of 630 – only 20 levels below the new max power level of 650. These values have now been reduced by 5 levels each.

What do the changes mean? The forge will now be somewhat easier and more accessible. Guardians who had already reached the old level cap of 600 now have a better chance of immediately diving into the new content without needing to grind old content.
What about players under power level 600? As Bungie announced, this small reduction of the level requirements was the only change they could make quickly. However, this is not all they are currently working on. There is already quite a bit in the pipeline.

Many more questions are expected to be answered soon, including how to close the significant power gap to the level requirement for forges. There should be more information in the upcoming “This Week at Bungie” blog on Friday.
Is there a patch? The changes have been made server-side and are already active. You do not need to download and install a patch.
What was the problem with the forge? As part of the first quest from the first premium DLC The Black Armory after a few steps, it leads the guardians into the forge.
The activity must be completed at least once to finish the quest, fully unlock the new forge vendor, and continue progressing in the new content. However, this was a problem for many guardians.
For guardians whose power level is still well below 600, they have little chance of successfully completing the first quest of the DLC and thus no access to further new content for now. This drove many fans to frustration.
How do you see the situation? Is this change enough for you? Do you think further adjustments are needed? Or do you not understand all the fuss?
