The new free event “Into the Light” has given Guardians in Destiny 2 another reason to log in. However, to let you know which date will reveal what content, Bungie has created a roadmap.
What is a roadmap? A roadmap is a plan created by the developers for the community. This plan summarizes all the important events and dates that can be expected in a DLC or season. Bungie frequently published a roadmap around the time of the Forsaken release so that players could look forward to upcoming content.
However, after future releases, the roadmaps declined, and Bungie rarely provided overviews of upcoming content. Now, with the release of the new event, Bungie has created a roadmap so that you know what to expect in the coming days before “The Final Shape”. We will show it to you.
Destiny 2: Into the Light – All dates from the roadmap
Which dates are important? The roadmap reveals various dates that will gradually unlock new content. The roadmap was originally published by Bungie on the platform x.com (formerly Twitter). Here is the overview:
The following dates can be found in the roadmap:
- The new arsenal and its weapons
- From April 9
- Elsie’s Rifle
- Falling Guillotine
- Edge Transit
- The Recluse
- Disagreement SR4
- Succession
- From April 16
- The Summit
- Midnight Coup
- From April 23
- Hammerhead
- Persistence
- From April 30
- Luna’s Howl
- Blast Furnace
- From April 9
- Exotic missions
- The Whisper – From April 9
- Zero Hour – From May 14
- Pantheon – Raid mode against bosses
- From April 30 to June 3
- New PvP maps
- From May 7
Why are some activities not immediately playable? Those who are new and do not know Bungie for long may be surprised. Not all activities and items will be available at launch. The developers deliberately use the infamous “timegating” in this case. With this method, the developers intentionally hold back some content to release it in pieces to the community.
So players have something new to log in for at different intervals. Although this sounds good in theory, many players are dissatisfied with it. Already before the release of “Into the Light”, Guardians complained about the timegating of the new weapons.
