In Destiny 2, the special NPC vendor Xur receives a lot of criticism from veterans. After a long wait, the promised changes are finally within reach.
This update is coming to Xur: The mysterious NPC Xur visits Destiny players every weekend and has random Exotics in his inventory. Bungie has now confirmed that the rolls on his exotic “Armor 2.0” gear will finally be completely random, meaning a random distribution of stats and affinities.
The players of Destiny 2 have been wishing for more relevance for Xur for nearly three years. Currently, the Exotics come with the same stats as the counterparts from the collection. Both the direction and the maximum height (about 50 points) are very low.
When will the change come? In Season 11, Xur will receive his update. This season starts on June 9 and will replace the current Season of the Worthy.
The information comes from Cozmo, Bungie’s Community Manager. He addressed a discussion about Xur and Armor 2.0 on reddit:
“I’ve just learned that the necessary work has apparently been completed and Xur should have random rolls starting from the next season.”

That the exotic vendor is supposed to receive an update was confirmed by Bungie some time ago. Now we finally know when it is supposed to happen.
Whether Xur will receive further changes is currently unknown. However, we will keep you updated on MeinMMO.
Xur is irrelevant for Destiny veterans
This is the problem with Xur: Especially for Guardians who have seen a lot of Destiny 2 and have invested many hours in the game, Xur offers very little of interest. They have all the exotic items from his stock and often see no reason to visit the NPC. Veterans miss the cult surrounding the visitor.
In fact, Xur is supposed to be a mystery that players look forward to on his weekend arrival. In the times of Destiny 1, it was speculated what the noodle face (the affectionate community name) would have this time. Of course, after 6 years, the effect fades and eventually a Guardian has all Exotics from his loot pool.

However, the random rolls now give veterans reasons to pay a visit to the vendor again. Especially hardcore players optimize their builds with fervor and are always on the lookout for the perfect distribution of stats.
Xur is not completely irrelevant in his current form either. Casual players or newcomers are grateful for the steady supply of fresh Exotics from the hooded figure. We hope that the changes will allow all Guardians to once again benefit from what used to be such a mysterious visitor.
