The upcoming War Mind DLC brings a lot of changes for Destiny 2. The in-game shop will also be optimized as part of this. We will show you what is changing at Eververse.
What is it about? In the This Week at Bungie Blog from May 3, 2018, Bungie presented how with the release of the upcoming War Mind expansion, the Eververse will also be changed. Players will soon find it easier to obtain their desired items than before.
Prism Matrix – The new Eververse feature
Since January 2018, Bungie has been working to offer cosmetic rewards more as activity rewards. The Eververse has already been significantly weakened in its dominance.
For instance, the Nightfall strike, the Raid, the Crucible, and the Strikes received their own cosmetic loot. Previously, cosmetic rewards were only available through the Eververse.
To make the in-game shop more player-friendly, Bungie is now introducing the Prism Matrix .
What is the Prism Matrix? It is a new feature of the Eververse. It will be introduced with the War Mind expansion and is based on the following 3 goals:
- Players should have more control over how they earn Eververse items
- Each week there should be a more predictable path to various items
- There should be fewer duplicate rewards
How does the Prism Matrix work? The Prism Matrix will contain 10 Eververse items from Season 3 each week it is active. Each item included will be maintained on a knock-out list.
So, with the tenth activation of the Matrix, one would receive all the items for that week – provided one hadn’t had any of those items before.
If items are earned through Glimmer Engrams, Glimmer Shards, or previous Matrix activations, they will also be removed from the list. In return, with each activation of the Matrix, one item that has never been received before will be given.
This way, the pool of items that one has not yet received becomes smaller over time. Thus, with increasing “progress,” missing items can eventually be acquired directly.
The first “Well Rested” level-up of the week also grants a so-called Prism Facet. This facet allows the Prism Matrix to be used once for free.
What about the Glimmer Engrams? Aside from the Prism Matrix, Glimmer Engrams will continue to be earned with every level-up. These engrams will also remain purchasable in the in-game shop.
What else is changing at the Eververse? Additionally, the number of available items will increase. Instead of 14, players will now be able to exchange 18 items with Tess for Glimmer Shards.
