The future of Destiny 2: On September 4th, new adventures for the Guardians will begin with the Forsaken expansion. However, once you defeat the Barons, complete the campaign, and master some endgame activities, the Guardian journey continues “post-launch.” Bungie is planning all kinds of events and activities in the coming weeks and months.
Infographic for Year 2: Bungie has now released a comprehensive roadmap for Year 2, which provides a preview of the content after the Forsaken launch. According to Bungie, this is not meant to be a spoiler, but a rough overview of what the Guardians can expect. Many surprises are still planned that are not included in the graphic.

What can we expect after the launch of Forsaken?
4 Seasons: In total, there will be four seasons in Year 2, each lasting three months. Each season offers free seasonal updates for all Destiny 2 players (including those without Forsaken) as well as annual pass content. The annual pass is paid and tied to Forsaken.
Season of the Outlaws
When does the season start? The Season of Outlaws begins on September 4th with the Forsaken launch.
What happens in the season?
- On September 14th, the raid “Last Wish” starts (Forsaken is required)
- On September 18th, the Iron Banner returns with the new map “The Convergence”
- On September 25th, a new Crucible mode “Breakthrough” comes with new PvP maps
- In October, the Festival of the Lost (the Halloween event) returns with a twist
- Some surprises, the evolution of the Dreaming City (Forsaken required), weekly playlist updates
The items in the Season of Outlaws are free for all Destiny 2 players. However, there are also exclusive annual pass bonus items.
Season of the Forge
When does the season start? The Season of the Forge starts in December 2018.

- Heavy machine guns are returning in December

- Those who want to acquire new exotics and play the raid wings after the 1st season will need the annual pass. The annual pass includes endgame activities, new modes, new challenges, and prestigious rewards, according to Bungie.
While Destiny 2: Forsaken costs €39.99 alone, you will have to pay €69.99 for Forsaken plus annual pass.
