With the Warmind expansion, Bungie already brought some revamped weapon exotics into the game. On May 29, the first wave of revamped exotic armor followed. Many are now eagerly awaiting further supplies. The next overhauled exotics are set to find their way into the game with the upcoming update 1.2.3 on July 17.
We will show you which armor exotics are included in the next shipment and what changes there are to these armor pieces after the overhaul.
These revamped exotics are expected in July
The upcoming update will introduce 9 updated armor pieces this time – three per class. The changes will be added to the already existing effects, unless explicitly stated otherwise.
ACD/0 Feedback Fence – Gauntlets (Titan)
What the Feedback Fence Melee kills build explosive energy within the ACD/0 Feedback Fence. When hit by an enemy melee attack, this energy is released in a devastating explosion.
What the Feedback Fence can do after the overhaul: The intrinsic perk now allows for rage ramp-up on melee hits instead of just kills. Additionally, the perk now grants stackable melee damage resistance.
Doomfang Pauldrons – Gauntlets (Titan)
What the exotic gauntlets could do so far: Through the intrinsic perk “Doomfangs”, shield explosion melee kills recharge the shield throw. Additionally, melee ability kills recharge the Sentinel Shield super.
What the exotic can do after the overhaul: Void melee kills now additionally generate more super energy and shield throw hits now extend the duration of the super.
Dune Strider – Leg Armor (Titan)
What the Dune Strider could do so far: The perk “Linear Actuators” increases sprint speed. Sprints also build a static charge. After a melee attack on an enemy, this charge causes a damage chain to nearby enemies.
What the leg armor can do after the overhaul: The activation time for “Linear Actuators” when sprinting has now been reduced to 1.5 seconds. Originally this time was 5 seconds. Furthermore, the damage of the chain lightning effect has increased by an additional 70% in PvP and 440% in PvE.
Lucky Raspberry – Chest Armor (Hunter)
What the chest armor could do so far: Through the perk “Probability Matrix”, the chaining abilities of the Arc Bolt Grenade are enhanced. Additionally, there is a chance to recharge it after each use.
What the exotic can do after the overhaul: The intrinsic perk now increases the chance to fully recharge the Arc Bolt Grenade through Arc Bolt hits. Additionally, it grants guaranteed recharge on a full chain that hits four targets.
St4mp-F3R – Leg Armor (Hunter)
What the leg armor could do so far: The perk “Hydraulic Boost” increases sprint speed and slide distance. The double jump is also improved.
What the exotic can do after the overhaul: The exotic perk now additionally offers increased benefits when “Directional Jump” and “Triple Jump” are used.
Ahamkara’s Spine – Gauntlets (Hunter)
What the gauntlets could do so far: Wearing the gauntlets allows the Light Sensor Mine Grenade to last longer and mark enemies hit by the explosion.
What the exotic can do after the overhaul: The marking function has been removed. The explosion radius and throwing speed of the Light Sensor Mine Grenade have been improved. Additionally, Light Sensor Mine Grenades are now harder to destroy. Solar ability hits now also generate a little energy for the Light Sensor Mine Grenade.
Crown of Storms – Helm (Warlock)
What the helm could do so far: Through the perk “Conductive Tines”, Arc ability kills increase the recharge rate of your Arc abilities.
What the exotic helm can do after the overhaul: The maximum number of stacks of “Conductive Tines” has been reduced to 3 (the effect remains the same) and each stack of “Conductive Tines” reduces the energy cost of Storm Trance.
Karnstein Armlets – Gauntlets (Warlock)
What the gauntlets could do so far: Through the intrinsic perk “Vampiric Embrace”, melee attacks increase resilience and mobility. Additionally, injured enemies are marked. Melee kills also significantly regenerate health.
What the exotic can do after the overhaul: The melee hit effects (resilience/mobility/target marking) have been removed. Instead, melee kills now heal immediately and provide continuous healing for 8 seconds afterwards.
Starfire Protocol – Chest Armor (Warlock)
What the chest armor could do so far: Through the perk “Fusion Husk”, fusion grenades have an additional charge and recharge faster. Fusion grenade kills also generate Rift energy.
What the exotic can do after the overhaul: Weapon damage hits through “Empowering Rift” now generate fusion grenade energy (20%).
What do you think of these changes? Do these exotics finally live up to their names? Or do you think the changes don’t go far enough compared to the weapons?
