In Destiny 2, a data miner has found another hint about the return of the Trials in Season 10 and the goal of the community challenge “Emyprianisches Fundament”.
This is what the data miner found: The community is currently working hard on the future of Destiny 2. During the community event, players are donating for the reconstruction.
A well-known data miner claims to have figured out what the Guardians are actually building. He has discovered an info text in the game files that states:
Only true champions of the Crucible dare to enter these newly erected halls.
Translation by Ginsor on Twitter
What does this have to do with the Trials? The found text is a slightly modified version of the original description of the Lighthouse (eng. Lighthouse). This lighthouse was the goal to be reached in the Trials of Osiris.
Only true champions of the Crucible dare to enter these legendary halls.
Description of the Lighthouse in Destiny 1
That same lighthouse is currently being rebuilt through our diligent fractaline donations, at least according to the leaks. The lighthouse is another piece of the big puzzle regarding the return of the Trials.
These were the Trials of Osiris: The Trials of Osiris, which were more popular under their English name Trials of Osiris, were a weekly PvP event. Every weekend, the ruthless battles attracted many players to the Crucible.
The best Guardians, in turn, attracted loads of viewers to their screens. So the Trials were all the rage and a staple of Destiny.
The last Trials of Osiris took place in August 2017. In Destiny 2, the popular PvP mode was replaced by the less popular Trials of the Nine.
However, these failed to convince the Guardians. The mode disappeared over a year ago. Since then, players have been waiting for their PvP highlight. In Season 10, it should finally happen.
An important note: All hints we currently have regarding the return of the Trials are unofficial. They stem from findings by data miners and speculation.
Therefore, the info should be taken with a grain of salt. But even if Bungie remains tight-lipped, a return should be regarded as likely.
This is how the community reacts to the leaks: According to a majority of Destiny players, on Reddit, the confirmation of the Trials of Osiris in Season 10 is just a matter of formality. Guardians joke that the Trials are Destiny 2’s best-kept bad secret.
Other users joke and say that Bungie is trolling us all hard. One user writes a Redditor: “Can’t wait for Bungie’s biggest false bait. In the end, we’ll get Gambit perfected or just the SRL back.”
What do you think, is the confirmation of the Trials of Osiris just a formality, and should Bungie finally let the cat out of the bag?
