Players have discovered a new Easter Egg in Destiny 2. In the mission “The Hour Zero,” Destiny veterans encounter an old friend: the beloved ball from Destiny 1.
Here’s what it’s about: Before players in Destiny 2 brought colored balls to strategic points in the new Tower to summon a massive Traveler ball, there was already a purple representative of the round kind in Destiny 1.
When Guardians were not striking poses in the old Tower to showcase their latest gear or trying to jump onto the roof of the old post office, the ball was usually kicked back and forth across the Plaza.
Until the attack of the Red Legion. In the first mission of Destiny 2, “Homecoming,” veterans could see their beloved ball lying on the ground. Flattened by one of the Space Turtles.
In the latest mission “The Hour Zero,” Bungie now reminds us of the already legendary ball and pays it the respect it deserves.
This is what happens to the ball: If you want to earn the Destiny 2 version of the Outbreak Prime, the Perfected Outbreak, you will return to the old Tower from Destiny 1 after a long questline, which was destroyed by Ghaul and his Legion at the beginning of Destiny 2. “The Hour Zero” is a time-critical mission and you only have 20 minutes to complete it. However, you should still keep your eyes open, as you can discover a small Easter Egg related to the old ball.
At one point, you can see the trampled ball lying on the stairs. Someone has cordoned off its “corpse” with tape. Probably to prevent anyone from stepping on the old friend.

Another player suggests that it might not be the Space Turtles who are guilty of our ball’s demise, but the nasty Trevor. TR3-VR, an oversized vacuum robot, can also be encountered in the questline surrounding the Perfected Outbreak. The dear Trevor sends a chill down the spine of some Guardians…
