The big autumn DLC of Destiny 2 brings a lot of new content but also removes old content. Fortunately, 18 items that clutter players’ inventories are being removed.
This is happening soon: Starting November 10, Destiny 2 will undergo significant changes. The big Beyond Light expansion will be released, finally bringing fresh content for the content-hungry Guardians. However, at the same time, the game is shrinking dramatically: Destiny 2 is removing 2 years of content that players have paid for.
Numerous locations, entire planets, as well as quests and activities, including the story campaigns, will be vaulted. MeinMMO has summarized why this is happening and what you need to know about the rotation system:
However, during the streamlining mandated by Bungie, there are some things that players would gladly part with and would prefer to say goodbye today rather than in autumn, if they weren’t such notorious pack rats.
These items will disappear: Since the corresponding planets or activities are disappearing, all these items will also become useless and can no longer be found.

Most of what you find on the list clutters the inventory – some can be found in the quest tab.

Why not part with the inventory corpses today?
This is the problem for many: The 50 slots in the inventory are notoriously overcrowded for many Guardians. Also, because some items cannot even be dropped and stored in the vault – but for some players the vault with its 500 slots is bursting at the seams.
Many Guardians are collectors through and through. This applies not only to weapons. Hands up, who still carries the “Expired Noodle Soup Coupon” as a memento of Cayde or hoards some faction tokens in the inventory just in case.
However, the disappearance of all these items should finally clean up the inventory that has reached its limits for many. Except for the very worst pack rats, as vaulted content could one day return … .
Should you dismantle everything now? We recommend waiting a bit longer before starting the cleanup. While you can already exchange tokens and synths, you won’t get much for them. Who knows if Bungie will introduce attractive dismantling rewards just before Beyond Light.
Currently, the official stance is still: Even Bungie does not know if you are allowed to destroy your old gear in Destiny 2
What does your inventory look like? Do you miss the disappearing consumables?
