When does Destiny 2 come out? A release date is rumored for September 2017 according to leaks. There are also hints about a beta.
A poster has recently surfaced, obviously promoting the upcoming sequel Destiny 2. It features three Guardians with big weapons, and a large 2 stands behind the Destiny logo. Here is the promo poster:
In the upper right corner, it says “8 Settembre”, which means September 8 in Italian. This could already indicate a specific release date! By the way, that’s a Friday.
Destiny 2 – Beta – Release Date
Moreover, the text at the bottom of the poster indicates that a beta is imminent. It is unknown when this will start. The 8th of September could also refer to the beta.
At first glance, this leak looks “real”. It appeared on the Italian website League Network, where images of this poster from different angles can be found. Since they have a watermark, we do not want to embed them here.
Note: According to Eurogamer editor Tom Phillips, the beta is expected to start around June. First on PS4. He also confirms the authenticity of this poster.
Destiny 2 – PS4 Exclusivity
What is also noticeable: The blue PlayStation logo is on the poster. This most likely means that there will be a collaboration and marketing deal with Sony for Destiny 2. Thus, there will also be PlayStation-exclusive content.
In addition, you can see buildings and an enemy ship in the background of the poster. The right Guardian is holding a weapon (likely a shotgun) labeled “SUROS”. This is a well-known weapon manufacturer in the Destiny universe.
At this point, the note: This is (still) not official material. The Italian website also states that this leak has not been confirmed.
All the information we have so far about Destiny 2 can be found here. A few weeks ago it was revealed that you would have to leave all your items from Destiny 1 behind. Only the appearance of your Guardian remains.
