In Destiny 2, the update 2.0.3 / 1.26 is now available for download and installation on PS4, Xbox One, and PC. Maintenance is only taking place in the background.
Update 7 PM: The patch is now here. It is approximately 250 MB in size and has version number 1.26 on PS4.
Update is coming: Later today (September 18), you will be able to download and install a new update in Destiny 2. This is update 2.0.3, which will be made available across all platforms and fixes several issues.
The important times:
- At 7 PM, maintenance will begin in the background – the servers will remain online. At the same time, the update 2.0.3 will go live.
- Once the update is available, you can download and install it. Players who are in an activity at that time will be prompted to install the update after completing the activity.
- By around 11 PM, the maintenance work in the background will be finished. Anyone still in an activity who has not installed the update will be brought to the title screen. You must install the update to continue playing Destiny 2. So if you’re planning a long raid session in Last Wish today, install the update beforehand.
Additionally, the Iron Banner will start tonight at 7 PM. It is advisable to install the update before diving into the PvP event. The companion app and clan features may be limited during maintenance, Bungie writes.
What changes with update 1.26 / 2.0.3? – Preview
Bungie has already shared a patch preview.
The following issues will be fixed according to the preview:
- An issue that affected weapon recoil on PC will be fixed.
- An issue that prevented the “The Chosen of the Traveler”-hand cannon from being dismantled or stored will be fixed. “The Chosen of the Traveler” will appear as a damaged version in the character inventory once this change is live.
- An issue that caused daily clan bounties to not switch correctly every day will be fixed.
- Players now have the option to reconnect to competitive matches when they encounter error codes that send them back to the login screen.

Armor
- Dragonfly Insignia armor now has a masterwork version.
Weapons
- An issue that caused hand cannons not to use the correct recoil stats for PC players will be fixed.
- “Heavy Sword Container” and “Sword Container of a Swordmaster” will now function correctly with Adaptive Swords.
Activities – PvE
- Io
- An issue that caused players to potentially be sent back to orbit during the final fight of “Long View” will be fixed.
- An issue that sometimes prevented players from receiving Seed of Light when interacting with the tree at the end of the “Visions of Light” mission will be fixed.
- Strikes
- An issue that caused the post-match statistics to not display at the end of strikes when selected via strike-specific navigator points will be fixed.
Triumphs
- The “Perfecting the Spurgewehr” triumph has been temporarily removed from platforms where players could not complete all tasks.
- This triumph will be changed in a future release to be available on all platforms.
- The “Ongoing Ember” badge variant now requires 40 perfecting triumphs.
Crucible
- The activity reconnection has been re-enabled in the competitive playlist
- Players whose connection to the Destiny 2 servers is lost have the option to reconnect to their match under the following conditions:
- The match must still be active.
- A connection to the match can be restored
- Players who reconnect to a match will receive NO penalty if this reconnection is successful.
UI
- The player status display is now shown in the competitive versions of “Control” and “Conflict”.
Gambit
- The reconnection has been disabled in the Gambit playlist to allow imbalanced teams to be quickly balanced by new players.
Economy
- An issue that prevented “The Chosen of the Traveler” hand cannon from being dismantled or stored will be fixed.
- An issue that caused “BrayTech RWP Type II” not to grant weapon mods through dismantling will be fixed.
- An issue that caused Hermes Bloom Fossil not to be granted through strikes will be fixed.
Collections
- “The Chosen of the Traveler” hand cannon has been replaced with the damaged version.
- The Iris Pulsator shell has been removed from collections and is currently unavailable.
The Dreaming City
- It now takes a while to exit the bounty “Audience with the Queen” to prevent accidental exits.
- The offering for the oracle now goes to the post office if the player’s consumable inventory is full.
Clans
- Daily clan bounties should now switch through the daily reset instead of weekly.
