In Destiny 2 a method has been discovered to defeat the raid boss in “Last Wish”, Riven, within seconds.

Guardians save the mechanics: In the raid Last Wish, the Ahamkara Riven awaits you as the final boss. This boss fight includes complicated mechanics that require team play and communication, posing a challenge even for the best Guardians.
However, some Guardians have now discovered a “cheese” that allows them to bypass most of the mechanics.
What is this cheese?
Cheese or exploit? In fact, this “trick” does not use any unfair or prohibited methods. It merely combines weapons and Guardian abilities that are surprisingly effective against Riven.
The player community refers to it as cheese – a trick to easily complete an otherwise difficult task. It is not described as an exploit – no major game flaw is being created or exploited for advantage. However, the boundaries of definition blur here.
How this cheese works is currently spreading quickly on YouTube and reddit.
The raid cheese against Riven
We won’t describe how the cheese works specifically here. But you only need the following:
- Rocket launcher with cluster bombs – the cluster bombs are crucial, they deal surprisingly high damage to Riven. The “Applause, Applause” rocket launcher is recommended. The cluster bombs are Riven’s great weakness.
- Various buffs from Guardian abilities
A Titan must activate their Void Shield, behind which the other players find protection and which increases the damage of all Guardians with “Weapons of Light”:
In addition, the new Solar Super of the Warlocks “Well of Radiance” is used, which activates a large aura that quickly heals and strengthens allies. The Empowered buff is also activated by the Warlock taking down a small enemy.
Especially important is the ability “Shattering Strike” of the new Void Hunter. This causes the opponent to be weakened after a melee hit and take more damage for a few seconds – according to user reports a whopping 50% more damage! So they must hit Riven once.
If you now also have a sufficiently high power level (over 580) to deal enough damage, Riven loses health extremely quickly. In this video by xHOUNDISHx, you can see this from 5:47:
The damage phases can be completed quickly in one phase. However, the Ascendant phase with Riven still needs to be played afterwards before the final boss encounter is mastered.
Whether and how Bungie will adjust the cluster bombs and the effect of “Shattering Strike” against Riven remains to be seen. As long as the developers take no action, you can ruthlessly pull out your rocket launchers with cluster bombs against Riven.
