The developers at Bungie revealed details about the upcoming second DLC for Destiny 2 in their latest Developer Update, as well as how things will proceed in Season 3 in the Crucible. Starting from May 8, the PvP maps that come with the DLCs “Curse of Osiris” and “Warmind” will be available to all players in the matchmaking.
In the latest Developer Update, Bungie announced some important information about the future of Destiny 2. The second DLC titled “Warmind” is set to be released on May 8 – just in time for the start of Season 3.
The new season also includes changes for PvP players. The Crucible maps that were added to Destiny 2 with the DLCs “Curse of Osiris” and “Warmind” will soon be accessible to players who have not purchased the expansions in matchmaking.
DLC Maps for All PvP Players
After the release of “Curse of Osiris”, this was different. Following the launch, Guardians without the DLC were excluded from numerous endgame activities. For example, only a patch made the Prestige Raid and the Prestige Nightfall accessible again for non-DLC owners.

The PvP mode Trials of the Nine required the DLC “Curse of Osiris” if one of the new DLC maps was played in a week.
With Season 3, no player should be excluded from Crucible activities anymore – regardless of whether the DLCs have been purchased or not.
A community outcry, like at the release of the Osiris story, should therefore be avoided in the future.
However, this is different for the private matches, which will also return with the upcoming DLC. Anyone wanting to access the maps from the expansions “Curse of Osiris” and “Warmind” in this mode must either already own them or purchase them first.
What do you think: Is this a step in the right direction, or should new maps only be reserved for DLC purchasers?
