Tip 5 – These enemies guarantee a Warmind cell: The highlight of many builds in Season 9 were the Warmind cells. These mini-nukes can clear an entire room in one go – you can also use them in the current Season 11.
As long as you use a Seraph or Ikelos weapon and have at least one Warmind mod equipped, kills have a chance to spawn the cells.
- Bosses will definitely drop the cells
- Acolyte Eyes will strangely also spawn a bomb 100% of the time
- For all other smaller enemies, you need to kill about 5 enemies before obtaining the bomb
Tip 6 – How to properly combat Shriekers: The Shriekers of the Hive are among the nastier enemies in Destiny 2. They hover high above your heads, hide when you want to engage them from a distance, and seem to have deadly aim.
However, you can disorient them and force them into a forced pause. Use Flashbang grenades – for example, from the Wendigo – or abilities like the Arrow or Suppression grenades.
- In the strike Savathûn’s Song, you can simply walk past the charge like this
- This works with all Shriekers, but the regular versions will shield themselves once blinded
- You won’t be able to kill them, but you can take care of other enemies in peace
Shriekers only shoot their barrage at one person, relentlessly. A target change is always announced by a brief pause – so don’t rely on the continuous fire stopping just because you are standing in front of a Shrieker with 2 others.
Tip 7 – How to avoid damage from Taken Blight: When fighting Taken, you can bet that you’ll have to destroy a handful of Blights (Taken Blight). These are surrounded by an impenetrable shield and can only be fought from within – which poisons you and deals persistent damage.
However, if you jump onto the orb in the center, you won’t take damage, even though you are inside. From here, you can then shoot the center beneath you.
Tip 8 – Overload weapons are more useful than you think: If you equip weapons with Overload rounds, you are well-prepared for the corresponding Champions. This reduces, for example, their damage output – this effect also applies to other enemies.
- If you hit normal enemies with Overload rounds, they deal 25% less damage
- The effect also applies to all enemies you hit with Overload grenades
Many guardians may not know that so many activities can be made significantly easier.
Tip 9 – Spawn Warmind cells with “inappropriate” weapons: Previously, it was said that only the few Seraph and Ikelos weapons were capable of generating the powerful Warmind cells. However, there is a small trick to bypass this.
Two types of weapons can do this:
- Guns that deal damage over time, such as the Anarchy and the Gravetender
- Weapons that fire a projectile with travel time – including rocket launchers and grenade launchers

Fire with these murder tools and then switch to an Ikelos or Seraph weapon. The damage dealt will count as if it came from the weapons authorized to generate Warmind cells.
What does this get you? You can take down strong enemies and only need a primary weapon capable of generating cells. After that, the bomb handles all nearby adds.
