With Destiny 2, the new Season of the Hunt kicks off alongside Beyond Light. We show you what content is planned and what story surprise awaits in Season 12.
What’s new: In 2 weeks, the long-awaited delayed expansion Beyond Light finally begins. At the same time, Season 12 also starts. Players had no idea about the season and specific content – until now.
- Season of the Hunt, the next chapter, was announced by Bungie in a Vidoc on 27.10.
- At the same time, the Destiny developer presented the roadmap for the upcoming months. This “schedule” outlines roughly which content will go live in Beyond Light and when.

This is what to expect at the launch of Beyond Light: On 10.11., a wave of new content will arrive. The roadmap lists what to expect:
- The new campaign Beyond Light
- New Stasis classes for Hunters, Warlocks, and Titans
- The new location Europa
- The exotic quest for the grenade launcher “Griff der Erlösung”
- A new season pass for the Season of the Hunt
- A new seasonal artifact
- The unknown activity “Imperium-Jagden”
- The new strike “Der Spiegelkorridor”

This is how it continues into 2021:
- On 13.11., the first Trials of Osiris in the DLC begin – New master weapons and some changes are intended to lure you into the PvP mode.
- On 17.11., the story of the Season of the Hunt kicks into gear. At the same time, the new activity “Zorngeborenen-Jagden” will also start.
- Raider should mark 21.11. on their calendar. On this day, the new raid in the Deep Stone Crypt will open its doors.
- The first Iron Banner in Beyond Light starts on 8.12. – Currently, we know nothing about changes.
- The festive Dawn event will take place from 15.12.20 to 05.01.21.
Bungie doesn’t want to reveal all the content yet and writes “and more.” They also show a mysterious image of snowy ruins on Europa. The roadmap indicates that Season 12 should run until February 2021.
In addition, Bungie has announced that large parts of the content and loot from Season 12 will remain in the game throughout Year 4. Guardians are to be less hurried by Fomo than in Year 3.
In the Season of the Hunt in Destiny 2, we fight against Oryx’s sister
Together with the roadmap, Bungie released a Vidoc (a video documentary) where they also talk about the new Season of the Hunt.
This is the story of Season 12: The events directly follow the current Season 11 and the interference missions. Together with Warlock Osiris, we must stop the Hive.
They are led by Xivu Arath. Behind the tongue twister lies the sister of the main villain Oryx, the Taken King.
We will be assisted by none other than Uldren Sov. He now goes by the name Crow and has no memories of his crimes.
The season aims to lay the groundwork for the finale of Year 4 of Destiny 2. For Xivu Arath serves as a henchwoman for her big sister: Savathûn. She will be the new main enemy in 2021 and has been pulling the strings behind the scenes since Forsaken.
