Destiny 2 reveals the content that will occupy you in the Season of Arrival until the big Autumn expansion “Beyond Light”. This gives off a deliberately mysterious vibe.
Plans for the Future: In the most important stream in a long time, Bungie first discussed the grand master plan for Destiny 2. It was revealed how the future of the MMO shooter is expected to unfold over the next few years.
Particularly interesting will be the Autumn of 2020. The next big chapter is coming: Beyond Light. The freshly started Season 11 is now preparing the Guardians for the highlight of the Destiny year and offers activities throughout the summer.
On July 16, it was announced that the Autumn DLC was postponed to November. This has also changed the roadmap for Season 11. The current version can be found here:
To keep you informed about what to expect in the coming months, we show you the planned content of the Season of Arrival.
The Season of Arrival gives off a deliberately mysterious vibe
The official calendar shows what Guardians can expect in Season 11:
Right at the season start, you can expect:
- A public contact event on Io as a new PvE activity – Here, Guardians will establish contact with the Darkness (free for all players)
- The new Prophecy dungeon (free for all players)
- New quest and interference mission – This will continue weekly with updates
This is coming in July:
- The Triumph Moments: From July 7 to September 22, the Triumph Moments are making a comeback – Bringing new Triumphs and a new seal into the game (free for all players)
This is coming in August:
- The Solstice of Heroes: From August 11 to September 8, you can earn a new “glowing” armor set
Other mentioned content of Season 11 includes:
- An exotic quest
- A new weapon exotic
- The new artifact Seed of Silver Wings (free for all players)
- New weapons and armor
- Umbral Engrams (free for all players)
- The Iron Banner
- A new Season Pass (partially free for all players)
Why so mysterious? A look at the roadmap shows that we actually don’t know much about the Season of Arrival. The last point on the calendar also states “and more…” along with the image of one of the Darkness Pyramid ships.
This mystery might have two reasons:
- Since Season 11 leads directly into the big Autumn expansion, they probably don’t want to spoil too much. That was also the reason why we received so little information before the reveal on June 9.
- In past seasons, the roadmap showed in detail what content would await players when. This diminished the mystery of discovering something exciting in the game, and many players were disappointed.
What do you think of the roadmap for the Season of Arrival – Is what has been presented too thin or are you looking forward to uncovering one or another surprise? How do you think the transition to the highly anticipated Autumn expansion and the launch of Year 4 will look?
Some details are already known for the next Destiny chapter: Destiny 2 will soon rotate content – Bringing cool moments from part 1 back
