Destiny 2 presents plans until 2022 – What do you think of the announcement?

In a stream, the developers of Destiny 2 made several major announcements. They plan to support the game with content until 2022. What do you think of this plan?

What has Bungie announced? On June 9, Bungie held a live stream where many new contents for the next 3 years were announced.

The list of planned features and contents is long and will extend into 2022. Here are some examples:

• Large DLCs “Beyond Light”, “Witch Queen” and “Lightfall”, intended to become a sort of trilogy and tell a grand story.
• The first DLC “Beyond Light” will be released as an autumn expansion on September 22.
• Continuation of the story, introducing a “new villain”.
• The new element “Stasis”, which comes as a new class for the Guardians and will harness the power of darkness – this is the first new element in 6 years.
• The moon Europa with new areas.
• The roadmap for Season 11.
• Overhaul of the quest log.
• Destiny Content Vault: Old content that is no longer played will be removed from the game to make space. They may return in the future.
• Old content from Destiny 1 will return.
• Release of Destiny 2 on next-gen consoles PS5 and Xbox Series X.
• Free upgrade for Destiny 2 owners to the new consoles.
• Unlimited crossplay between all platforms.

What do the announcements mean? The fact that Bungie will support their game with major new content until 2022 is a clear sign. There have been rumors about the development of a possible successor, Destiny 3.

These should at least be dispelled for the next few years. In the announcement stream, Game Director Luke Smith states that he does not want to make Destiny 3 and that Destiny 2 will also be released for next-gen consoles. So you won’t have to start from scratch again.
