The new TWaB from Destiny 2 has been released along with new information about Witch Queen. It finally tackles the blue engrams and the most annoying materials. You can find out what will change here on MeinMMO.
What has been announced? The new This Week at Bungie (short TWaB) was published as usual on Thursday. In it, the developer revealed many new details about the changes coming to players with Witch Queen. Among other things, Bungie disclosed how they plan to deal with the pesky blue engrams that are notorious for clogging up the Postmaster.
It was also announced that with “The Witch Queen,” the mod components and weapons master materials will no longer play a role. We will provide you with all the details about it.
Blue engrams will be adjusted
What is the problem with the engrams? Many players complain that their vaults and the Post office are being overrun by blue engrams. These annoying things only offer good gear for newcomers. They are no longer useful for high power level players.
Every player is thus forced to head to the Tower after a few rounds of Crucible or Strikes to clean out. If this is not done, legendary engrams may be destroyed, which no longer had space in the Postmaster.
How does Bungie plan to tackle this? Bungie wants to ensure that no blue engrams drop in activities in Witch Queen, such as in the Crucible or Gambit, once the soft cap is reached.
If you have exceeded the soft cap of 1500 power, you will have a higher chance of obtaining legendary engrams from activities or receiving legendary shards.
Note that blue spectral remains can still drop from chests and enemies.
Weapons master materials and mod components will be banned
What will change? In Witch Queen, Banshee-44 will be completely remodeled. He will receive a ranking system like Zavala and Co. The weapons master materials and mod components will thus be eliminated.
You will level up your reputation with him only by dismantling legendary and exotic gear. Furthermore, Banshee-44 and Ada-1 will finally offer more mods for sale.
The number will be increased from two to four copies. You can buy these from the respective vendors for a mere 10,000 Glimmer and thus get faster to the mods still missing in your collection.
What should I do now? Bungie urges the Guardians to redeem all their materials before Witch Queen launches. Players who have built an impressive collection during this time are at a disadvantage as redeeming with the vendors usually takes ages.
Despite broken fingers after redeeming, these are good news that brings a bit of fresh air. So make the most of your time and use all materials by February 22. This way, you can still establish a good cushion of legendary shards.
