In Destiny 2, you can now open a hidden door. Behind it, the story of Uldren/Crow continues and there are hints about the Hawkmoon with random rolls.
This is what you can find now: At first glance, the reset on January 12 hasn’t brought anything really new for Destiny 2. However, clever Guardians have found a hidden door that you can now open, leading to a secret area.
There you will find a large spaceship, lore, numerous speculations, and it has to do with Hawkmoon and Uldren/Crow.
MeinMMO explains exactly how to find the hidden door in the Reservoir, what awaits you there, and what the Guardians are discussing.
Find the hidden door in the ETZ Reservoir
Take this route: Start your trip in the European Dead Zone (EDZ) on Earth and land in the “Trostland” area – where the big church is. You will now take the route to the Reservoir that you had to take for the Hawkmoon mission before (just now without hints or quest markers).
- To get to the Reservoir, you need to break into the half-collapsed house to your right behind the church. On the second floor of the house marked “ABS Kastner”, you will find the access to the sewer.
- Follow the pipes further, master a few jumps, and take down the pesky Taken.
- Jump to the large boss room – you know it from the Strike “The Lake of Shadows”.
- Here you will find a Taken Knight, accompanied by numerous adds. To destroy its shield and make it vulnerable, you need to throw the orbs that its companions drop at it.
- Once the room is safe, take the bent steel beam hidden at the back. It will take you up a level.
- Your goal is now located very far to the upper right, one exit further than in the original mission.
- At the previously locked door, you will now find a golden falcon and can communicate with the Traveler.
What’s here? Guardians have been puzzling over the locked door since December 2020. You will find two paths in the new area. The left path is (still) blocked. At the end of the right path, you will find Uldren/Crow’s ship.
The mission dialogues confirm again that it was supposed to be broken for a long time. However, instead of scrap, you will find a completely intact spaceship:
What is up with the ship? Uldren crashed with his ship during the Taken King times (2015). The wreck then lay around as space junk on Mars. It seems the shady Spider has hidden the junk here in the EDZ and Uldren reports that there is nothing to see here. Spider held the now resurrected Uldren as a servant since his awakening (until we recently freed him).
Through the power of the Traveler, the old ship now shines in a new light. Guardians interpret this as another step of Uldren towards Cayde’s legacy – that the great light of the redeemed Crow accepts now.
Additionally, the ship looks very much like Hawkmoon. The known feather ornaments are found all over the vessel. On top of that, it has the characteristic “fang claws” of the exotic hand cannon.
What is up with Hawkmoon?
You can get the exotic hand cannon Hawkmoon itself since December 2020 in Destiny 2. The special thing about the weapon is that it can drop as the only exotic with random rolls. This allows you to farm your personal Hawkmoon with stats and perks that appeal to you.
What does this have to do with the new area? Well, if you take the right path behind the door, a new area loads shortly before you reach the end. You will then also be shown on the right side of the screen that you are in the mission area of the Hawkmoon quest.
However, the mission is not live yet. Guardians speculate that the mission might start here for the first time and could then be farmed from orbit later on. Because players have “accidentally” already found the mission to farm Hawkmoon in Destiny 2.
Have you opened the hidden door yet? What do you think, what is up with the repaired and redesigned ship by the Traveler? It shouldn’t take long until we can finally farm Hawkmoon with random rolls. If you want to know which perks are the best on the exotic, check out here on MeinMMO:
