3 “Love and Death” – Grenade launcher
The heavy grenade launcher “Love and Death” was once among the absolute top weapons against the strongest enemies in Destiny 2. This could be the same in Season 20, because Bungie will buff grenade launchers in Lightfall. It dealt solar damage and with a rate of fire of 150, it was one of the fast-firing representatives of its kind.
What made the weapon special back then? Due to the chance for the special perk combination with “Spike Grenades”, “Prepared for Anything” and “Way Better”, one could crouch and quickly unload their 5-shot magazine into a boss.
Back then, only the top weapon “Wendigo GL3” could compete with the grenade launcher, but only for the first 6 shots. By the way, Bungie also reintroduced Wendigo as an exclusive Nightfall weapon in Season 19.
It is also interesting that “Love and Death” harmonized wonderfully with the then top PvE weapon, the exotic sniper “Izanagi’s Burden”. It might return to its old glory in Season 20 with a buff.

4 “Lullaby” – Hand cannon
The kinetic 120 hand cannon “Lullaby” with aggressive casing was visually not new even back then. It strongly resembled weapon models like “Duke Type 44” or “Pribina-D” and had 8 shots. Then it was like: “Don’t want to farm Gambit for “The Last Dollar” or Trials for “Igneous Hammer”? Here’s the solution.”
What made the weapon special back then? Many guardians do not remember the appearance of the weapon much. It was rather the extremely loud shot of the Lullaby that made a significant impression through the headphones. Otherwise, its weapon stats were quite good. It particularly shone with a damage of 92 and recoil of 98.

5 “Premonition” – Pulse rifle
With a rate of fire of 340, this gun belongs to the aggressive pulse rifles with a slow rate of fire. Each shot deals Void damage. However, it was also difficult to obtain and required playing the dungeon “Pit of Heresy”.
What made the weapon special back then? The weapon has good range, but its stability often left much to be desired. Nevertheless, the penetrative casing ensured it had excellent accuracy and its slow firing meant high damage. It was considered the better version of the “Forgotten”. In Season 14, however, after the overhaul, it could no longer quite deliver that old glory.

What does the community say about the Shadowkeep rework?
Players are currently divided. Now that it is clear that these are the old Moon weapons, a discussion has sparked in the community about whether this recycling is still okay or has gone too far. (via DestinyTracker)
Moon weapons were popular firearms: Some players are looking forward to the return of these because many of the Moon weapons shown above were really good and had some of the coolest reload sounds of all time.
- Guardian alex cabral via Twitter says: “I personally love their appearance, I have always liked the aesthetics of the Moon weapons, but I didn’t like the [fabric ribbons], it looks [now] much cleaner and the neon [is great].”
- And player Forcer adds: “Honestly, I have no problem with the Moon weapons being [re-released]. Except for the [fusion rifle], none of them have ever been reused. I would have preferred a new model, but at least it’s not another Better Devil’s model.”
Other guardians are not at all pleased: While some are excited to go back to using the Moon weapons, other guardians are disappointed and angry. After all, they did not spend their money on Lightfall to play with old legendary weapons they already know that just seem to look different at first glance.
Many people complain about others who are upset about reskins, which is okay and not okay. It’s a full price €60 DLC (or €100 when you count everything) [so] almost a brand new game. It’s unacceptable to treat our money this way. […]
complains Juhász Dániel via Twitter
And MemesRDreams thinks: “The only thing that keeps me from turning up my nose is the promise of hopefully good perks.”
Perhaps the explanation for the reskins is quite simple, as the Destiny player LatteThunder points out: “People are angry that these are reskins of Luna/Moon weapons, but Neomuna literally translates to “new moon”. That’s design philosophy.”
We want to know the opinion of the German community on this. Do you agree that Bungie is bringing back the Moon weapons, and that they might also become craftable? Or are you annoyed that this is just recycling again? Please write your thoughts and feedback directly in our comments.
