A remarkable glitch in Destiny 2 has recently caused a stir, turning the gameplay on its head. The newly discovered bug allows Guardians to freeze time, freezing movable objects in the game world.
What is the time-stop glitch? The curious effect is a new glitch in Destiny 2, which has become known through the players’ curiosity. The unusual bug can be used to temporarily stop time, or rather the movement in the game world.
The glitch itself is surprisingly simple but has significant impacts on Destiny 2’s gameplay.
- With it, rotating objects, both on PvP maps and in the open world, can be stopped for a certain period.
- Conveyor belts in Gambit can also be stopped to gain a tactical advantage against intruders.
- But automatic spawn doors, from which enemies normally come, can also be sealed, preventing anyone from passing through.
The “time-stop glitch” is therefore not just an unusual effect, but it could quickly entice players to simplify the endgame as well.

Guardians now master light and time
Here’s how to stop time: More and more Guardians are already using the time-stop effect. This is partly because it doesn’t take much to execute it. Only one thing is absolutely necessary: You need a Void Warlock to stop time, or rather, to stop objects.
- Equip the magnetic grenade and the Void aspect “Chaos Accelerant”.
- The aspect allows you to overload the grenade. Once thrown at a moving object that is susceptible to the effect, it stops.

Players have already begun experimenting with many things in the game using the time-stop glitch and have found that there are also movable objects that cannot be stopped. This includes, for example, the boat in the strike “The Light Blade”.
Furthermore, the time-stop glitch can easily ruin things. Just throwing the grenade into the wrong corner is enough, and you can get trapped yourself. Or your own team can get stuck in an activity because mechanisms no longer move or doors and gates, which you need to pass through, do not open anymore.
It is therefore better to use the glitch just for fun in the open world, even if the bug can bring a significant advantage in some PvE and PvP activities.
That’s why the fun will probably end soon: The time-stop glitch in Destiny 2 is undoubtedly fascinating, but Bungie, the developer of Destiny 2, has quickly responded to such bugs in the past and released patches to fix them.
So it remains to be seen how long the bug will stay in the game now that it is becoming more widely known.
