In Destiny 2, the community challenge “Empyrean Foundation” is underway. We take a look at the current progress and why the next steps could be more expensive than anticipated.
What concerns the Destiny community: This week, the activity “Empyrean Foundation” starts in Destiny 2. This is a preparation for the upcoming Season 10.
Saint-14 wants to reshape the future and needs the help of all players. Every Guardian can currently participate in the activity set up as a community challenge and donate Fractaline for a good cause.

How far is the event currently? The community task is divided into 7 stages. The Destiny developer announced on Twitter: During the night from Wednesday to Thursday, the third stage was already reached.
The donation marathon is expected to last several weeks. It seems that the players’ generosity has very deep pockets. Because Guardians are donating like crazy – probably also to bring back the Trials.
Players need to donate more than assumed: Together with reaching the third donation goal, Bungie revealed the next step in the donation marathon. For the fourth stage, 2.2 billion Fractaline are to be raised.
Thus, the Fractaline hunger surpasses the expectations of the Guardians. Although there was no official statement regarding the height of steps 4-7 beforehand, players had made their own forecasts at the beginning of Empyrean Foundation:
- Stage 4 – 1.9 billion Fractaline
- Stage 5 – 2.8 billion Fractaline
- Stage 6 – 3.9 billion Fractaline
- Stage 7 – 5.2 billion Fractaline
Although the new goal is only slightly above estimates, this reinforces the theory that Bungie dynamically adjusts the goals of the community challenge. This could ensure that the event does not end too early or ultimately falls flat.

How are the Guardians reacting? The community doesn’t seem to mind the high amount of Fractaline required. Under the official Bungie tweet, players appear amused and creative.
It will be exciting to see how expensive the following stages of the community challenge will be. Will the Guardians be able to satisfy the Fractaline hunger?

Have you donated yet? What do you think, how expensive will the community event still become? Those who currently cannot access the quest for Empyrean Foundation might find the solution here:
