There’s chaos in Bungie’s official shop as players complain about products from the Destiny 2 range. The images in the shop don’t match the clothing that was delivered. In some images, players show how different the tops look.
What’s wrong with the delivered clothing? The tops not only have the wrong color but also a completely different pattern. The Trials sweater, inspired by the Trials of Osiris, is shown in the shop with an orange stripe on the side and a pattern on the sleeves. None of this is seen on the actual sweater.
The sweater scandal has been documented by user MacticsG1 on Twitter, who calls the delivery “criminal”:
Another issue arises with the “Iron Banner” sweatshirt (via reddit.com). In Bungie’s product shop, the sweater is shown with a beige sleeve, a beige collar, red stripes on the sleeve, and a red flame above the wolf’s head.
Here too, the reality looks different: The sweater has black sleeves, a white stripe, and a white flame above the wolf’s head. The green tone also looks a bit different than in the shop.
In addition to the two sweaters, there was also an error with a sock set, where only three instead of the promised four pairs were delivered. (via reddit.com)
Currently, players are preparing for the expansion called “The Final Shape,” which is briefly teased in the following video:
How is Bungie responding? Complaints have now reached Bungie, and the company has promptly reacted: The affected clothing will no longer be offered in the shop.
All affected customers should have already been contacted. Bungie is offering a full refund and discount codes for future orders as compensation.
According to some users from the reddit forum, the clothing is supposedly not produced directly by Bungie but by a third company called Level Up Wear.
The images are actually supposed to represent the design that was intended for the clothing – but Level Up Wear apparently could not deliver the promised clothes. User SplashDmgEnthusiast also writes that he personally did not have good experiences with the provider:
Based on my personal experience, Level Up Wear is absolute trash. I once bought a hoodie from them, and it was the cheapest piece of trash I ever wore. I am not surprised at all that the final product is not what was advertised in the images.

Other users view the differently colored clothing with humor. User swaggyp29 writes, for example, that the affected individuals should actually know how shaders work. This refers to the ability to change the colors of their gear in Destiny 2, and these shaders do not always show what you expect.
In general, players feel that the quality has declined over time. They are satisfied with the clothing they purchased over five years ago. But now the clothing reportedly does not feel as good on the skin as it used to. Especially at prices of 80 USD, this is unacceptable.
