Recently, the new exotic weapon Hawkmoon made its debut in Destiny 2. This exotic weapon also comes with Random Rolls. And while many Guardians are puzzled about how to acquire it, one player seems to have figured it out.
What is the Hawkmoon all about? The exotic hand cannon Hawkmoon is an iconic gun from the first game, which recently made its comeback in Season 12 of Destiny 2 – albeit in a somewhat revised form.
You can find out how to get this new exotic weapon here: Here’s how to complete the exotic quest “As the Crow Flies” for Hawkmoon
What’s special about Hawkmoon: The exciting part about Hawkmoon is not only its past but also the fact that it is the first exotic that can be acquired in parts with Random Rolls. The gun itself hints at this with the perk “Transformative” disguised as a question mark. You can already view the random rolls in the databases (via light.gg)
How to obtain Hawkmoon with Random Rolls?
This is still a mystery for many Guardians. However, until now, Hawkmoon could only be obtained in its standard version. There has not been a way to farm the weapon with random perks until now.
YouTuber Cheese Forever has now seemingly “accidentally” discovered how players can earn Hawkmoon with Random Rolls, or rather: how they will be able to earn it.
Note: This is currently not officially confirmed by Bungie. So while it is indeed likely that this will be possible, enjoy it with a corresponding dose of caution.
What has been discovered: As Cheese Forever found out (likely through an accidental glitch), it appears that players will be able to earn Hawkmoon with Random Rolls through the mission “The Crow and the Hawk” in the EDZ. This is the mission that you complete at the end of the regular Hawkmoon quest and in which you must remold Hawkmoon.
The mission, with a recommended power level of 1,220, will be playable again and will bring modifiers including various champions or weekly rotating burns.
This mission will be selectable directly from the map of the EDZ on Earth. Currently, this mission is not regularly available. The harder versions of other exotic missions (such as the Whisper or Perfected Outbreak) also had a similar system with rotating burns.
You can watch Cheese Forever’s video about this here:
When will this mission be available? This is currently unknown. Bungie has not commented on this in any way, nor was the YouTuber himself sure. However, it is almost certain that it will happen after this find.
