In Destiny 2 , a student found the solution for his difficult homework. His ally is a teacher who offers free tutoring sessions after their raids.
Do you know the situation? You just want to play your favorite game, but in reality, your real-life tasks are piling up and the deadline is mercilessly approaching?
- The homework needs to be submitted at school the next day
- The university wants a multi-page essay on post-colonial structures
- Or the tax office wants to see the tax return from last year
Something similar happened to the Guardian and reddit user Drakath60. However, he decided to go for one more raid in Destiny 2 instead of tackling his physics homework for college – and that was (exceptionally) the right decision.
The player was quite lucky: When the last boss in the “Garden of Salvation” raid was down and they were heading to the Tower, Drakath60 mustered up the courage to ask if anyone was good enough at physics to help him with his homework.
And indeed: A teammate was willing to help. As luck would have it, the helpful Guardian was even a physics teacher. Together, they not only defeated the boss, but also tackled the complex numbers and formulas.
This is quite unusual: Because anyone who has mastered a raid with random players via LFG tools or apps usually wants to leave quickly after the boss kill. The flight to the Tower is therefore regularly dominated by an awkward silence, until the first Guardian breaks the silence: “Thanks guys, gg” – Some disappear the moment the raid is completed without saying a word.
A teacher who helps with homework after the raid becomes the new hero of the Destiny community
This is how the community reacts: Drakath60 then shared the event on reddit and thanked the savior:
Thank you for taking the time and going through [the physics homework] with me, it made the rest much easier! Cool community moment.

The post has now almost 11,000 upvotes and has been awarded several accolades. The free tutoring sessions and willingness to help have been well received. The teacher also chimed in, saying he would help again at any time.
Many users express that they love this kind of behavior in the Destiny community. We have also reported on other examples on MeinMMO:
- Destiny 2: “Eyes up, guardian” – players donate for a little guardian in need
- 2 Twitch streamers carry a 9-year-old to the highest PvP rank in Destiny 2
Other commentators make a joke and offer their skills to seeking guardians. So if your vehicle breaks down or you need expertise, Destiny 2 might be the right place to go.
